I scream, you scream, we all scream for Gelato.
Yes, it may seem a little bit primary school, but the fact is, Gelato Messina has been known to send its many devotees into a frenzy.
And, the ice cream connoisseur has officially opened the doors on the foreshore of Coolangatta Beach as part of a multi-million dollar make over of ‘The Strand.’
Already popular in Sydney and Melbourne, Gelato Messina is set to become a feature of the up and coming foodie hub, giving gelato lovers far and wide something to really get excited about. If you haven't tried Messina before, it really is the sort of stuff worth lining up for.
The gelateria will serve up to 40 signature flavours, including crowd favourites salted caramel and white chocolate alongside more traditional flavours such as pistachio and tiramisu.
If you’re looking for something more artsy to choose from, you can also check out the edible architectural masterpieces that look too good to eat.
“We’ve been waiting for the perfect beachside location that compliments our product and creates the ideal atmosphere for our customers and visitors, the perfect balance of chill, childishness and charm,” says founder Nick Palumbo.
To celebrate the opening, a personalised Coolangatta/ Gelato Messina wall piece by New York based artist, Jeremyville will be unveiled, as well as a welcome flavour special (rumoured to be called Cool-in-gatta) to celebrate the essence of Queensland and the reinvention of the Strand.
