Counting itself in the top-tier chain of other-worldly burgers and beloved by Barack Obama himself, Five Guys is officially coming down under.
Often pipped against the likes of In-N-Out as the unofficial burger gods of the U.S, discussions to bring the cult burger joint to Australia have been in place for a while now – dating back to 2016 when the company first confirmed plans for its aggressive global expansion. But now, those plans have become a reality!

Known for their drool-worthy burgers and milkshakes topped with smoked bacon, the move to Aussie shores is all thanks to Seagrass Boutique Hospitality – the same guys behind Ribs & Burgers. The family-owned, fresh burger concept originated in Washington DC and has grown to over 1,500 stores across the U.S and Europe.
The first bricks and mortar store is set to open in Sydney CBD in 2021, with plans to expand to Brisbane (!!), Melbourne and New Zealand soon after. And while over 20 stores are planned to launch in Australia alone, exactly where you can get your hands on these delicious morsels is still being kept under wraps.
No official opening dates have been announced yet, but sweet baby cheeses, as soon as we know – you’ll know!
