The days of getting your hands around a post-party kebab are soon to be numbered. Instead, grab your fork and spoon to twirl your way through late-night Roman dining in the Valley’s latest foodie addition.
From the culinary geniuses who gifted our palates with Salt Meats Cheese comes Eterna. Taking over the space formerly occupied by the beloved LONgTIME, Eterna is sure to become a veteran in your restaurant rotation with its authentic Roman recipes and casual sophistication. Although it will serve as Brisbane’s much-needed slice of the Eternal City, it will also channel the energies of New York in its late-night spirits. And we mean that literally – Eterna will be pouring classic gin martinis, Cardinale cocktails and flowing wine alongside its menu from 5pm to midnight Tuesday-Thursday, and until 2am on Friday and Saturday.
Plates will be filled with pared-back flavours in the form of Roman cornerstones such as cacio e pepe and carbonara. By turning the spotlight on the gastronomic principles of delicious seasonal ingredients and simple preparations, what happens in Rome won’t stay in Rome. Rather, you’ll experience the genuine tastes of suppli, (a street-food style of arancini), rustic pollo alla Romana (Roman-style chicken) and Porchetta di Ariccia (Roman-style pork) right in the heart of the Valley. And, to complete your sweet escape, the dessert menu will feature a traditional crostata ricotta e visciole (ricotta and sour cherry cheesecake).
In the lead up to Eterna’s launch on Thursday July 30, stay tuned for more details and sneak peeks into the Roman flavours and New York vibes that will soon call Brisbane home.
