The 4064 postcode will soon be the recipients of a brand new Asian-fusion restaurant, with former Masterchef alumni Emily Yeoh at the helm. Inspired by her grandmother's Chinese, Cantonese and Malaysian heritage, Emily has taken the past six years since her Masterchef debut to harness her culinary skills and gain experience at some of the country’s best restaurants, including our very own GoMA Restaurant and BlackBird Bar & Grill, plus Melbourne’s famed Attica Restaurant.

With a cult following in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Emily is no stranger to the hospitality industry and after a slight hiccup that prevented her opening earlier in the year (we hear some are calling it a global pandemic?!), her eponymous project, Emily Yeoh Restaurant is now well on its way to opening, with doors opening on Given Terrace in early August.

So, what can you expect from this exciting venture? Think traditional Canton-style dumplings and Thai duck curry, to flambé pork and everything in between, Emily’s ethos is all about modern-Asian flavours, and sustainable, farm to plate cooking in a casual and family-friendly atmosphere. They will also be offering takeaway, private dining and can cater to corporate events and large bookings. Kids are welcome, too!
