Simon Barakat is behind some of Brisbane’s best and notorious eats such as Defiant Duck, Gino’s and more. Now, he’s flying onto a bigger pond. From Newstead to Lebanon and passing through London Fields, this is his next move. Introducing, Ehden Bar and Kitchen – the latest and greatest addition to Montague Road in West End. Taking over the venue which was once London Fields, Ehden is adding a little taste of Lebanon. The curated menu will feature modern Australian dishes with a twist of the Middle East, and is set to be Simon’s best project yet.
The bar and kitchen is homage to Simon’s father and their Lebanese heritage with Ehden being a village in the north-eastern mountains. Starting from scratch and reinvigorating the space, the challenges are water off a duck’s back with Ehden set to officially open its doors at the end of October. From the fairy-lit garden of Ehden, area to a range of private function spaces, it’s the hidden gem underneath the venue that really stands out. We’re talking stonewalls, a lit entrance (in more ways than one) and an industrial chic bar area and our bet is that this is set to be the next best venue West End has ever seen.
Yep, that’s right – you’ve heard it here first and there’s more to come. We’ll get crackin’ on the next drop of info and what’s to be featured on the menu!
