As we say a very sad goodbye to the recently closed Freestyle Tout dessert bar in the Emporium, we welcome something just as sweet - but with far fewer sugary calories.
New biz on the Emporium block, Delfina’s Bistro has opened as a warm and inviting space serving up beautiful modern Australian cuisine with a European twist, with a sweet concept based upon family memories, while creating and sharing great food.
So who’s Delfina? “Delfina was my grandmother,” says Managing Director Kellie-Ann Ashton.
Kellie says the venue was created in her memory, to bring to life the simple magic that she loved so much; having good food and wine, in good company.
“She (Delfina) loved nothing more than a glass of fine wine over dinner with friends and family. We wanted to create a venue that paid homage to her and the things she loved.
“Delfina’s Bistro is all about family and food. Sitting down to enjoy a great meal with family and friends is an experience everyone should cherish more often and we’ve created the perfect place to do just that,” Kellie says.
The Bistro and bar is adorned with fine wines, stocked and ready for their elegant and tantalising cocktail menu. With crisp clean, warm cozy couches and inviting decor, Delfina’s Bistro is the perfect location for a long lunch or an exquisite dinner experience.
The menu hosts mains such as duck breasts with Le Puy lentils and braised leek, slow roasted lamb with barley risotto and roasted vegetables and the crowd favourite, pork belly, blackened carrot puree, walnut and sweet onion jus.
And if you’re still a little sour that the sweetness of the dessert bar, Freestyle, has left the Emporium, Delfina’s Bistro has an assortment of delectable desserts, including an almond pannacotta, frozen mandarin bar and their chocolate fondant with peanut brittle.
