From the team that brought you Red Hook comes boutique bistro Coppa Spuntino; Italian cuisine done simply but well, with a wine list to match.
Located in the laneway behind Red Hook in the very heart of the city, the name Coppa comes from a traditional Italian pork cold cut, of which the team has had made locally and exclusively for the restaurant.
Spuntino literally translates to ‘snack’ in Italian, and the menu consists of a mix of spuntinos and pizzettas, with the idea that food can be eaten as a snack, or multiple servings ordered to share with friends.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu will consist of meals like panettone, spiced mascarpone and berry compote for breakfast, smoked ham hock ciabattas and salads to eat in or takeaway for lunch, with charcuteries, cheeses pizzettas and desserts added to the menu for dinner.
The wine list ensures a perfect marriage between meals and drinks, with local and imported Italian wines featured, alongside a selection of aperitifs and Italian-inspired cocktails.
Owners Tom Sanceau and Bonnie Shearston say that each venue is inspired by their passions.
“We both love design, travel and food/drink - we try to bring our experiences and fit it to the Brisbane landscape. We are always trying to come up with new original ideas and have various concepts that we constantly tweak and evolve.”
Sit back, grab a spuntino or four, and transport yourself to the charming cobbled streets of Rome.
