Brisbane can’t get enough of foodie and laneway culture, so it was only a matter of time before we merged these two amazing things for a food festival in an iconic laneway in South Brisbane.
The FREE Fish Lane Festival (nestled between Merivale and Grey Streets) launches on Saturday, May 7 and will encourage Brisbanites to dine, drink and dance the day away while discovering the eclectic character of West End and South Bank’s culture and creativity.
Presented by Aria Property Group and The Fox Hotel, the festival has curated a select group of culinary pop-ups from the area’s most talked-about and loved restaurants and bars, including Billykart Kitchen, Fish Lane Bistro, The Gun Shop Café, Habitat and The Fox Hotel to name just a few.
BUT one of the most exciting foodie stalls to set up shop at the Fish Lane Festival is GELATO MESSINA!
We know that the Fish Lane dining precinct will get its very own Gelato Messina later this year but since when have we been able to wait patiently for anything? Just like the hordes of Brisbane ice-cream lovers, we’re super excited about getting a sneak peek of all Gelato Messina’s whimsical flavour combos. And by sneak peek we mean taste. And by taste we mean every single flavour in our mouths. Maybe all at the same time. Shut up and take our money.
While the festival will be serving premium drinks and signature eats, it’s really a full-day celebration of all things local, with a jam-packed program of laneway festival fun including live music acts and performances across two stages.
Make your way down to Fish Lane on Saturday, May 7, grab a table with friends, and unwind with craft beer, cocktails and top-shelf wines and sample signature dishes from celebrated local eateries. Then you can dance the night away to live musical acts! Remember, the more you dance, the more room you’ll have for another round of food.
Stay tuned for the full music, food and pop-up bar menus coming very soon!
