Brisbane’s Best Truffle Dishes: 2017 Edit

Brisbane’s Best Truffle Dishes: 2017 Edit

There's a reason truffle is a culinary delicacy (but frankly it's just delicious).

By Guest Styler | 9th August 2017

Intensely aromatic and rich, truffles are a dining-delicacy that we can’t get enough of. Here’s our pick of Brisbane’s best truffle dishes this season.

NoHo Bar And Grill | Wilston

The traditional mac 'n' cheese made with three cheeses (american cheddar, mozzarella and parmesan - omg) baked in bechamel sauce is an absolute winner. This already delicious dish can only be improved by adding truffle, and my god you absolutely must. Even more mouthwatering than the standard serve!

Project 41 | Bowen Hills

Of course we love a delicious jaffle, but none more than the decadently delicious and temptingly oozey truffled mac ‘n’ cheese jaffle from the good team at Project 41. The cheesey mac and aromatic truffles make for a truly delectable experience that tops this writer’s list. I’m literally drooling just thinking about it.

Va Bene | Windsor

Va Bene prepares some of the best Italian this side of the Mediterranean Sea, and their grilled angus rubeye topped with a generous serve of herb-truffle butter is unmatched by any other dish in Brisbane. Tender and juicy, this bistecca di manzo is just what we are craving.

Bacchus | South Brisbane

There’s only one thing more tantalising than a truffle dish and that is a truffle degustation. The acclaimed Bacchus Restaurant has prepared a five-course degustation, each perfectly flavoured with our favourite fungi. Don’t dawdle: the degustation is only available until 12th August.

One Fifty | Ascot

If you say “truffle mash”, then we’ll be there. One Fifty in Ascot knows our weakness, and their Rangers Valley grain-fed eye fillet with truffled paris mash and red wine mushroom jus gets us every time.

Doo-Bop Jazz Bar | Brisbane City

For something a little less heavy but just as decadent, Doo-Bop Jazz Bar prepare a seared gnocchi dish with Portobello mushrooms, asparagus, and truffle cream. The truffle cream and rich Portobello mushrooms are perfectly balanced and oh-so earthy – you won’t want to share this dish with anyone.

Jamie’s Italian | Brisbane City

Of course Jamie’s makes the list! Throughout August, Jamie’s Italian is serving a variety of truffle dishes – four different ones throughout the month! That’s four times as much bang for your buck. Savour truffled flash steak, truffled gnudi, and truffle risotto, all crafted using fresh Australian Périgord truffles.
