Do you like to indulge in the finer things in life from time to time? If your idea of a luxurious afternoon involves an endless selection of teas, pretty petit fours, finger sandwiches and warm scones with jam and cream, then do we have a treat for you. Brisbane is brimming with indulgent high tea venues that we couldn’t keep all to ourselves. Call your gal pals and get ready to pen a date for your next catch up at one of the best high teas Brisbane has to offer in 2020.

Covent Garden | West End

West End’s Covent Garden is renowned for their extensive gin and cocktail offerings, so it’s only fitting that they delight patrons with a twist on classic high tea. At the ever-so-tranquil and tropical Covent Garden, you can experience what they call G&High Tea. For $45 per person, you will be treated to a Covent Garden’s signature Gin and Tea cocktail and a delicious spread of both sweet and savoury bites. Doesn’t sipping on a gin cocktail while enjoying fresh cucumber sandwiches and sweet treats sound delightful? You can experience G&High Tea at Covent Garden until 6 pm from Tuesday until Sunday, but remember bookings are essential – crowds flock for the signature Gin and Tea cocktail!

Crema & Cream | Stafford

Run by a Stafford native, Crema and Cream provide the perfect suburban getaway for North Brisbane locals. Owner Gracelyn has over 17 years of experience under her belt and a reputation that proceeds her in the baking world. This is why it is not surprising that people flock far and wide to experience her iconic high teas. You can treat yourself to an array of savoury bites and sweet delights which are matched perfectly with heavenly herbal teas and premium coffees. This year, Gracelyn is finding her European roots, creating new and inspired menu items that pay homage to her Italian heritage. Consider it a British tradition with an Italian Twist!

Customs House | Brisbane City

You may know them for their riverside igloos, but they are equally renowned for their high teas. Gather the girls because the Champagne High Tea at Customs House is inspired by elegance and culinary expertise. Customs House is creating a sophisticated occasion, featuring art deco high tea stands and petite, handcrafted desserts. Hosted on Patina’s Restaurant terrace, indulge in mini spanner crab buns, smoked salmon, and raspberry scones with a tall glass of Louis Roederer Brut Premier Champagne on arrival. From $75 per person from Monday to Sunday, book your champagne tea party today!

Stamford Plaza Brisbane | Brisbane City

Iconic river views are always welcome alongside a tea party. High tea at the Stamford Plaza Brisbane is one of those iconic, unforgettable experiences, something you will look back on, remembering the delectable finger food, the delightful tea selections and the warm, open ambience. While you have passed the age of giving dolls a porcelain teacup with your pinkie raised, you can still experience the luxurious feeling of enjoying a spectacular high tea experience! With several high tea choices to choose from, you can indulge in the weekend chocolate coated High Tea Buffet, Morning Tea on the river terrace, or opt for the elegant Spirit of Queensland Lobby High Tea or the Guilt Free High Tea! From savoury to sweet, unwind in the elegant lobby lounge or in The Brasserie marquee on the River marquee, for an unforgettable event.

The Matriarch | Newstead

Welcome to high tea royalty because Newstead’s The Matriarch truly knows sophistication. Surround yourself with stunning floral décor, grand chandeliers and plush velvet seating as you enjoy a truly aesthetic arrangement of delicious sweets and a herbal cup of tea! Wear your finest cocktail attire because this place is all about making a statement. On arrival, you’ll have the choice of the house bubbly or a light and fruity cocktail, before selecting your choice of hot beverage for the afternoon. You’ll enjoy a range of delicate macarons, mini cakes, chocolate pastries, scones and more, so we recommend you pace yourself because you’ll want to try them all! So, pop on those crowns and don’t miss out on this royal day out with the ladies!
