Start flexing your littlest finger and gathering your lace! It’s time to indulge in the finer things in life because we’re spilling the tea. While a cucumber sandwich just hits, these pretty venues take it up a notch with tea parties worthy of the Queen. Some frills, no fuss, these are the best high teas in Brisbane (and beyond).

Belle Époque | South Bank

In this cosy French cafe beneath the Emporium, you’ll find a signature high tea renowned for all the right reasons. Serving a seasonal menu that never fails to delight, munch on spiced chicken ciabatta, smoked salmon finger sandwiches with cream cheese, coconut panna cotta, and more, including their iconic and absolutely sublime tea-soaked sultana scones. Prices start from from $60 per person between 11.30am to 3pm with additional extras available, such as a glass of sparkling and two hours of bottomless Champagne (put the party in ‘tea party’, amirite?). They even offer a children’s high tea at $30 per person, with a juice or milkshake! Book here.

Covent Garden | West End

There’s no doubt Covent Garden knows their gin, so it should come at no surprise that they used their ima-gin-ation and found the perfect twist on an elegant soiree – a gin and tea cocktail that has the crowds coming back for more and more. The G + High Tea will easily be a highlight of your week, spent over a luxurious spread of sweet and savoury treats in the tranquil surrounds of the beautiful garden. Simply put, a pot of their signature gin tea cocktail + fresh canapés = a match made in heaven. Plus, as one of Brisbane’s very few coeliac safe restaurants, their high tea is made fully gluten free by default! At $45 per person, bookings are essential and in high demand. Book here.

Crema and Cream | Stafford

If you have a penchant for all things Italian, a beautiful food affair here involves handcrafted gourmet offerings in a charming and intimate cafe. At only $36 per person, it’s your choice between three high tea styles: traditional English, Italian, or a mix of both. No pressure – either option comes with four savoury and four sweet treats with a pot of tea or a barista-made coffee that’s sure to delight. It’s the perfect setting for special occasions like birthdays or bridal showers, as well as on a whim with bookings available every day with at least one day’s notice (it’s also available at other times beside the proposed sessions).  All dietary requirements are happily catered for and you can even BYO bubbles. P.S. if your little ones aren’t interested in holding their pinkies up just yet, Crema and Cream also offers a children’s high tea! Book here.
