There’s no doubting Brisbane’s unfleeting obsession with espresso martinis (for good reason). After all, this infamous cocktail does combine the two things that help get us through the week: coffee and vodka.
This perfection in a cup is now being recognised, with Brisbane preparing for it’s first ever Espresso Martini Festival.
THAT’S RIGHT FOLKS.
ESPRESSO. MARTINI. FESTIVAL.
South Brisbane’s ultra-swanky foodie hub, Fish Lane, is getting ready to host the social cocktail event of the year. Saunter down the laneway and indulge in a selection of five different espresso martinis, prepared by the champion bartenders of Brooklyn Standard. The guys from our favourite hidden underground bar are no strangers to an espresso martini, with this drinks guaranteed to satisfy even the toughest cocktail critic. (Word on the street is the salted caramel espresso martini will make an appearance, so come prepared to experience pure heaven!)
If the words ‘espresso martinis’ and ‘festival’ in the same sentence weren’t enough to blow your mind, the team from Hello Please will be serving up all the delectable Vietnamese street food your body can handle. From fragrant pho, to crispy chicken ribs and pork belly bao buns, Hello Please will definitely be able to take good care of your stomach for the evening.
Tickets are on sale now for $35, which will include a Hello Please snack pack plus an espresso martini on arrival to get you started. Mark your calendars for Tuesday 15th August and get ready for the caffeine induced frivolities.
If you’re not a fan of work day hangovers (and no-one is) then never-fear. This crew is well organised and have planned the event for the day preceding the EKKA show holiday.
Now there’s no excuse! Prepare your body for the unavoidable heart palpitations. It’ll be worth it.
