Sorry Sydney and Melbourne, it takes a special city to be chosen as Scottish BrewDog’s FIRST landing spot in Australia. The UK craft beer sensation is hitting our shores and is heading straight to Bris. Its next $30-million site is opening soon in Murarrie, and we couldn’t be more excited. While it isn’t at our doorstep, a short drive to Murarrie for riverside brews is well worth it. For those that live in Canon Hill or Morningside, you lucky devils.

This Scottish beer label was founded in 2007, expanding from three employees (Martin, James and their doggo) into an international, multi-continent sensation. With over 1000 employees globally, these fellas have gone from hand bottling beers to donating 30% of their annual profits to charity. BrewDog was designed to modernise the UK beer market, unknowingly starting a revolution. Led by their furry friend, we’re so excited to down an ice cold bev when their brewery opens in Brisbane! The Scott’s know how to drink, but so do us Aussies.

We’d recommend trying the Punk IPA, Dead Pony Club, Jet Black Heart, 5am Saint and the Indie. Their classics will be brewed here in the Sunshine State, but the brew-masters are keen to collaborate with Oz craft brewers to learn and to create some small-batch brews, using local ingredients and flavours. The head of production has also been hired locally to ensure true Aussie authenticity.

Without any doubt, these guys are boundary pushers. Construction has begun are we’re holding out for the doors to open in early 2019. There is a dog tap and a restaurant in the works, meaning the Australian beer scene is about to explode. She’s gonna be a bonnie lass!
