Paleo Café

Shop 2 & 3, 257 Given Tce, Paddington

Gluten-free, dairy-free. If you’re gluten intolerant and find it hard to find somewhere good to go without having to pay for the extra price tag for ‘gluten free choices’ then this café has you covered. Paleo is all about living and eating by the way that nature is - adopting the paleolithic . No processed foods. Some of the menu stand outs for brekky include the Banana Pancakes, served with berry compote or lemon curd and whipped coconut cream (YUM!) and for lunch the Paleo Café Cob Salad of sweet potato, roast pumpkin, sunflower seeds, bacon, boiled eggs with a creamy ranch dressing. Add: Chicken, Prawns, Salmon or Kangaroo.

Lunch: pick up a Polenta gnocchi romana, capers, pine nuts, currants, sorrel, pecorino. And if you’re keen on getting your skills up so you can audition for the next season of My Kitchen Rules, Mondo’s has a cooking school holding different classes all year round, and co-owner Brenda Fawdon has just re-released her popular cookbook Wholehearted Food. But make sure to get in quick, as the book sold out in just 6 weeks last year!

Orawgi

Inside the Biosolar Office, Corner of Hawthorn St across from the ANZ bank, Woolloongabba

Vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free. An amazing café made by genius Jamie Louise. She thought it up as there was nowhere in Brisbane to grab a raw vegan sugar and dairy free meal. The philosophy in the Orawgi kitchen is that all food is created within an environment of joy, creativity and music! and they promise to deliver the ‘tastiest and healthiest treats possible.’ Nestled in the Biosolar offices. It’s a cute place to have a catch up with you bestie after work or grab some lunch and head back to work.
