FYI: Brisbane's Newest Beer Hall Is Seriously Epic

Our own little slice of Munich

By Siobhan Taylor | 19th June 2018

From the same team that gave us Munich Brauhaus and The Bavarian (aka Rockpool Dining Group), The Bavarian Beerhaus is the new-kid-on-the-block with a penchant for all things beer, meat and German.

Tucked down the end of King Street opposite the showgrounds, the massive 350-seat beer hall is hard to miss. Directly opposite Welcome To Bowen Hills inside the iconic Royal Snack Bar Building, the behemoth that is The Bavarian Beerhaus doesn't do anything in small doses. We're talking a massive bar, plenty of screens showing whatever the game of the day is, huge food platters, and thirst-quenching 2L beer towers.

If you haven't yet checked out the new venue, we've got 3 reasons why they should be at the top of your hit-list this weekend.

FYI: Brisbane's Bavarian Beerhaus On King Street Is Epic

First things first, the bar is a beer nerds dream. With 40 imported and local beers to choose from, ranging from German pours to local craft brews, it's one of the best selection of beers we've seen in a while. As far as German beers, they offer all your favourites such as Löwenbräu, Stiegl and Hofbräu. For local brews, you can choose from Green Beacon, Newstead Brewing, Young Henry's, Stone & Wood and more.

Food, Glorious Food

Holy smokes. The food is insane. Pumping out a range of Bavarian eats, from schnitzels and snags to pork knuckles and sauerkraut, the menu has been designed to pair perfectly with a beer or two. As we know, nothing goes better with beer than an epic barbeque. Can't pick what to order? Get the epic sports feast for 4 – there's more food than you'll be able to finish and you get to try a bit of everything! Oh, and we can't forget to mention that, as a nod to the iconic Royal Snack Bar building which is it's home, they also have a menu of all your favourite Ekka snacks such as strawberry sundaes, dagwood dogs and loaded fries.

If you're looking for somewhere that has a good atmosphere and just the right amount of entertainment, Bavarian Beerhaus steps up to the plate and hits a home run. With ping-pong tables, foosball, plenty of screens to watch live sport, and a jam-packed weekly calendar of activities, there are plenty of things to keep you entertained. Or, if you just want casual Friday drinks with a good atmosphere, their live music on weekends is the perfect way to set the scene.
