Brisbane's Best 24-Hour Food Venues

For the night crawlers, the early risers and the reluctant out-and-abouters.

By Candice Jackson | 3rd February 2016

Listen up Brisbane, we’re redefining the 2am feed. Because why should you have to resort to a greasy takeaway, a 7-Eleven pie or a drive-thru burger meal when your stomach rumbles in the middle of the night? You SHOULDN'T, that's why!

Sure, Late-night dining options always come in handy. But if you’re looking for a venue that never sleeps, never turns off the lights, never packs up their chairs and (most importantly) never kicks you out, we’ve got you covered.

Pancake Manor, Brisbane CBD

Who doesn’t love pancakes at any time of the day or night? You’ll find stacks of options at this sweet 24-hour venue, including waffles, crepes and fluffy buttermilk pancakes with ice-cream scoops and oodles of hot fudge. Can’t handle that much sugary deliciousness late at night? They also serve a variety of savoury dishes. But come on... PANCAKES.

Jimmy’s On The Mall, Brisbane CBD

Spread over two levels, with bar and dining areas, the new-look Jimmy’s On The Mall in the Queen Street Mall is perfect for an alfresco lunch or balmy night drinks. The venue closes certain sections as the night goes on, but is always open to serve your midnight/early-morning needs.

Death Before Decaf, Fortitude Valley

If you’ve dallied until the deadline, are about to attend a midnight screening, or just need to push through after a big night, coffee will help every time! Death By Decaf on Brunswick Street offers 24-hour barista-made coffee to perk you up when you need it most.

Charlie’s Fruit Market, Everton Park

I have to admit, if I’m leaving the house after dark in search of food or snacks, it’s highly unlikely that it’ll be healthy. For those who prefer sweet potato to plain potato chips and bananas rather than banana splits, firstly kudos to you. Secondly, you’ll love Charlie’s Fruit Market, because you can buy fresh and organic produce on a 24-hour basis. And if you’re there before 10pm, the café next door (Charlie’s Raw Squeeze) serves vegetarian and vegan food options, coffee and acai bowls and Nice-cream.

Pig’n’Whistle, Brisbane CBD

The traditional British pub on Queen Street Mall is a hub of entertainment at all hours, with live music, DJs and screenings of national and international sporting matches. The venue serves hot food from 6am to 2am, with bar snacks available to tide you over in the wee hours until the main kitchen opens again.

Treasury Casino & Hotel, Brisbane CBD

There are many different dining venues within the Brisbane Treasury Casino & Hotel, but if you’re looking to eat after 10pm, The Kitchen and Bite are your go-tos. The Kitchen is a home-style diner with all-day breakfast, mouth-watering feeds and decadent desserts operating from 6am to 1am/2am, while Bite is a casual outlet for fresh, fast takeaway options.

Friday and Saturday 24-hour trade:

Empire Kebab House, Tingalpa
The kebab: it’s the humble staple every stomach yearns for during a late-night/early-morning venture home. While many places in the Brisbane CBD or Fortitude Valley may satisfy your kebab craving during weekends, this Tingalpa vendor will line your stomach with greasy goodness from Friday right until Sunday morning.

Arriba Grill, Morningside
If you’d rather grab a burrito than a kebab, Arriba Grill claims to be the first 24-hour Mexican takeaway venue in Australia to serve your needs all weekend! And even if they’re not the first, we’ll overlook it because we love burritos, nachos and tacos!
