Gone are the days were folks could justify their fast-food habits as the “cheaper option”. Now, there is a plethora of options for cheap healthy food around Brisbane. To help with difficult decision making when the lunchtime grumbles hit, we’ve compiled our top ten healthy bites to suit budget diners.

Quan Thanh

This hidden Vietnamese gem is guaranteed to pack out every Saturday night due to its fantastic food, awesome atmosphere and friendly staff. If you’re ever around West End looking for a healthy lunch bite, drop in and see the staff here and grab a delicious Vermicelli (Rice Noodle) salad (Lettuce, mint, coriander, and bean sprouts) with spring rolls for $9.50, or grilled sliced pork or beef for $9.90.

Top Sushi

Want to avoid the starchy rice but still want to indulge your sushi cravings? Try Top Sushi in the city with their delectable range of brown rice sushi options. Grab two rolls and a miso soup and still get change from a tenner! Satisfy that sushi appetite without the negative bloating after effects. Sourced Grocer

Tenerife’s trendy café and wholesome grocery destination, Sourced Grocer sports a wholesome and sophisticated menu. They offer a range of different options and even a few healthy picks that won’t break the $10 mark. Try the fresh pineapple with vanilla bean yoghurt and almonds, the trifle with fresh stone fruits and toasted muesli (both $9.50), or grab one of their filling urban green or banana, almond and fresh grape smoothies for $8.50. If you like the sound of these head to Tenerife and pull up a milk crate or antique chair and take in the friendly, makeshift surrounds.

Fundies Wholefood Café offers a world of wholesome, organic meals and healthy café treats. Detox, cleanse and refresh with fresh juices, or grab a meal-in-a-smoothie with blended combinations of organic fruit and vegetables, yoghurt, honey and milk for under $9. But if you're after something a little bigger for lunch, you do need a few extra pennies with each option no more than $15. They offer an appetizing range of gourmet burgers, organic rice balls, lentil or chickpea patties and salad combination .
