Say goodbye to change room queues and leaving your sofa for anything: Zara has officially launched their Australian online store and we are absolutely obsessed!
Moving from strength to strength, the Spanish retail giant has cemented itself as the go-to destination for new season trends and must-have buys. Since launching their first Australian store in Sydney in 2011, we’ve been absolutely enraptured with the brand, which now boasts 10 stores across Australia. But if you don’t live near one of Australia’s capital cities, it’s been near impossible to see their goods due to their not having an Australian online platform. While our Euro and American counterparts have benefited from online shopping for some time now, we’ve been sadly waiting for the phone call that we can purchase every new look online…
But, the time has come.
Last week Zara announced that they would be launching their Australian online store on Thursday 15th March. They’ve let slip that in addition to offering delivery to work and home, they’ll also offer pickup from your nearest store. Plus, in a move that will totally challenge The Iconic, it’s been rumoured that they will also be offering free returns! Absolute game-changer. In the meantime, we just need to wait for some of our other favourite retailers to step up their digital game… We’re looking at you, H&M and IKEA.
While it will surely be brutal for our bank accounts, it makes sense for them to make the virtual move. It will be interesting to see though if their new platform will deliver, or, if like Amazon, it will fizzle out after the hype. Either way, while shopping centres and brick & mortar stores are still our go-to destination for a bit of retail therapy, this exciting news is definitely well received.
Prior to the official launch, we’ve been lucky enough to nab a sneak peek of everything that will be hitting their virtual shelves (and our digital shopping carts) from Thursday. Scroll on for a bit of style inspo and to discover our pick of everything you need to buy from their first drop.
