The Pop-Up Shop That’s Bringing 30 Of Your Favourite Aussie Brands To NYC

when worlds collide

By Victoria Lewis | 8th April 2026

It’s been one heck of a year for Australian fashion, and adding yet another exciting feather in an already adorned cap is WeWearAustralian’s new New York City pop-up, taking locally-loved labels to one of the world’s most coveted fashion capitals.

Thanks to WeWearAustralian’s latest SoHo residency, homegrown fashion has arrived stateside, and it’s really dressed to impress the Big Apple. Officially opening over the weekend, the launch marks an exciting new chapter in the expansion of Australian fashion, an in-person retail space showcasing the collections of over 30 renowned Aussie brands, including Viktoria & Woods, Lee Matthews, and Bondi Born (to name just a few), to international audiences.

From the sophisticated launch party to the full list of designers, these are all the details you need to know about the rare pop-up shop that’s painting the town Aussie.

Touching down in the Big Apple

Making its new home in the heart of NYC’s luxury shopping hub in SoHo, WeWearAustralian’s one-of-a-kind flagship offers a rare chance for the US market to shop Australian brands IRL. This modern retail environment brings together a selection of our most compelling emerging and established brands across fashion, accessories, art, interiors, and lifestyle categories, bridging the gap for Australian creatives to gain international exposure.

With curated art hanging on the walls and natural light flooding through the windows, the space has been designed with the Australian lifestyle in mind, where the collections have space to breathe and be explored. It’s the very best of Australian fashion on full display – authentic, unique, aspirational, and it’s just what the global market has been pining for.

With exclusive in‑store and online drops, this is a one-stop shopping destination where new-season collections and limited-edition collaborations from independent designers and industry heavyweights become more shoppable, with faster localised shipping and no international duties for US customers. And luckily for those of us Down Under, the collection is now available for perusal (and purchase) on the WeWearAustralian website here.

Who’s in town?

Taking on the Big Apple with suave and style is a star-studded cast of emerging and established Australian brands. The offering will include seasonal collections that showcase Australian craftsmanship at its finest, with standout names including Viktoria & Woods, Lee Mathews, Silk Laundry, Bondi Born, and ESSE Studios.

Among the list is Queensland-based coastal label Palm Noosa and Brisbane-born label JOAEN, which offers a timeless display of sartorial staples with a signature edge.

Here’s the full list of who will make an appearance: Akubra, Bared Footwear, Atoir, Bondi Born, Decjuba, ESSE Studios, Hansen & Gretel, Helen Kaminski, Ilio Nema, Jasmine Alexa, JOAEN, Kate & Kole, Kivari, Lee Matthews, Leo Lin, Oh So Troppy, Palm Noosa, Silk Laundry, Viktoria & Woods, Yaneth, Zandra, alongside pieces from a handful of First Nations and Australian artists.

More than a store

At its core, WeWearAustralian is an initiative dedicated to platforming local talent on the world stage. Founded by Kelly Atkinson and Richard Poulson, the business is so much more than a shopping destination, but a platform that empowers designers and expands Australian fashion in scope and notoriety. Here, each designer is hand-selected for their ethos, design difference, and creative point of view, coming together under one roof and taking on the world with a collective voice.

Always on the lookout for fresh talent and new opportunities, WeWearAustralian is an exciting initiative forging the way for more homegrown designers to activate (and later dominate) overseas, a large part of the growing demand for Australian fashion in all corners of the world. So, seriously, watch this space.

The launch

If there’s one thing Aussies do well, it’s making an entrance. To mark the stylish beginning of the new residency, WeWearAustralian hosted a dazzling soiree. Hosted by Laura Brown, the ribbon cut by Australian Consulate-General, Heather Ridout, and with a star-studded guest list – including model and actress Natalie Lim Suarez – in attendance, it was surely an event that put WeWearAustralian, and the fabulous brands it boasts, on the NYC map.

The evening was, of course, full of the Aussie touch, complete with Old Mate’s meat pies, a live didgeridoo performance, Bluestone Lane espresso, Four Pillars martinis, where guests floated between dazzling collections from Australia’s best and brightest creative talents.
