Why Dress Hire Might Be The Ultimate Fashion Hack This Festive Season

High fashion, low commitment

December… the month of end-of-year cheers, Christmas celebrations, and NYE countdowns. Crazy chaos and fun! And during this period, what is the one thing in the world that is more important than a glass of champagne? Your outfit, of course!

Introducing The Pretty Collective, Brisbane’s very own all-occasion dress hire hub. With the likes of Zimmerman, Rebecca Vallance, Kate Spade, Esber, Oroton, and everything in between, your festive fashion looks are sorted, right out of Carindale.

Why are we loving TPC? Founder Nat elevates event dressing to a new level, with specifically sourced pieces to dazzle and flatter.  Their Party Collection is all the glitz and glam a girl could want, and their black tie range needs no further introduction, ready to step onto the finest of red carpets.

TPC is one of the few that offer try-ons, and a size range to boast, hosting sizes 4-16 in their studio. The curated collection stocks frocks from both Brisbane designers and international labels alike, making the collection one-of-a-kind in QLD’s corner of fashion.

What brands are in high demand with your clientele for Spring Summer this year?

Brands that are in high demand for hire include Rebecca Vallance, known for its timeless elegance and flattering silhouettes, and Zimmermann, celebrated for its feminine designs and intricate details. For bold, vibrant prints, The Pretty Collective clients love Farm Rio as a go-to choice, bringing a fun and unique flair to events. Additionally, By Nicola is gaining popularity for more contemporary styles that resonate with those clients seeking a casual yet stylish option. These brands are highly sought after for their quality, design, and ability to elevate any occasion.

From black-tie balls to boozy brunches, cocktail hours and countdown fever, no matter the event, there’s an ensemble for you. Save your money for cocktails by hiring your outfit at a portion of the RRP – no more outfit repeating AND you’re contributing to circular fashion. Hello, environmentally-friendly fashion!

What motivated you to start TPC?

As a Mum with a young family, I wanted a flexible job that could fit seamlessly around our busy family life. I’ve always had a love for fashion, and with a passion for starting my own business, I saw an opportunity to marry this love of fashion with the desire to help other women feel confident and stylish by providing access to beautiful outfits.  And so, The Pretty Collective was born.

In life, I’ve been through many versions of myself – pre-kids, post-partum and now as a school Mum – and throughout these transitions; my shape, budget and personal style have evolved.  This experience inspired me to start TPC, offering women the flexibility to embrace their changing styles and needs without the commitment of purchasing new outfits for every stage of life.  The collection offers a diverse selection for every occasion, from casual gatherings and cocktail parties to special celebrations, black-tie events and statement-making party pieces.  The Pretty Collective also takes the stress out of the online hiring process by offering a try-on studio based in Carindale. Prospective clients can try on outfits in a relaxed setting, ensuring they feel confident in the look and fit of each piece.  Children are also welcome at try-on appointments as I firsthand know how hard the Mum juggle can be.  Additionally, The Pretty Collective embraces fashion circularity by encouraging the reuse and rental of high-quality pieces, contributing to a more sustainable approach to fashion.

With all of their dresses available to preview on their Instagram, you can get a good look into the outfits, style tips, and how the “Pretties” wear them. There’s no scarcity of fabulous looks, so no need to worry about rocking up to the function underdressed. Hire it, flaunt it, and let the compliments roll in.

Dressing the Disco Club Aus dancers and journalism gems that step onto The Brownlow red carpet, The Pretty Collective never fails to leave the paparazzi stunned.

How can someone book a hire with you?

Ready to make heads turn this Christmas? Be the stand out at the function with The Pretty Collective. You’re bound to look and feel beautiful. Cheers!

What top 3 key things do you look for when adding new styles to your collection?

When adding new styles to my collection the top 3 things I look for are:

  • Versatility: Styles that can work across a variety of occasions and suit different body types are a priority, allowing clients to make the most of their rental experience.
  • Fabrication: High quality materials are essential for durability, ensuring the pieces maintain their shape and look stunning wear after wear.
  • Individuality: I look for designs that stand out, offering something special and memorable that clients won’t find everywhere else, ensuring they feel exceptional in every outfit.
