Brisbane, your wardrobe is about to level up. In major retail news, The New Trend — one of Australia’s most coveted multi-brand luxury boutiques — is officially opening its first Queensland location this September, and it’s landing on none other than James Street. That’s right: the Melbourne-born fashion destination that’s been quietly dominating the closets of the style set is finally coming north.

If you’re not familiar, here’s the lowdown. The New Trend is the boutique for those who want their wardrobe to feel intentional, elevated, and just a little ahead of the curve. It stocks an ultra-curated edit of both international heavyweights and directional local labels — from everyday icons to evenings out. And now, Brisbane fashion enthusiasts can soon experience the magic in person. So, who exactly are we talking?

Featured designers include:Agolde, Alexander Wang, Anine Bing, Bottega Veneta, Citizens of Humanity, Christopher Esber, Coperni, Cult Gaia, DARKPARK, Golden Goose, Harris Tapper, Isabel Marant, Nili Lotan, Róhe, SLVRLAKE, The Attico, and WARDROBE.NYC. Basically, it’s where Bottega bags, Saint Laurent heels, and Esber tailoring sit perfectly next to denim you’ll live in and dresses you’ll wear forever.

Brisbane is the latest city to join The New Trend’s fashion footprint, following boutique openings in Melbourne’s Armadale and Brighton, and Sydney’s Paddington. Now, it’s setting up shop on none other than James Street — Brisbane’s undisputed style precinct, already home to the likes of Camargue, Zimmermann, Camilla and Marc, St. Agni, Scanlan Theodore, Calexico, SIR. But this arrival isn’t just another addition to the retail strip, it’s a statement.

Co-Founder & Brand Director Vanessa Spencer has built a brand that feels less like a store and more like a fashion sanctuary. With an edit that’s as directional as it is wearable, and service that feels tailored and personal, The New Trend is poised to elevate James Street’s designer mix to a whole new level. “We’ve poured so much into this space, and I honestly can’t wait for you to see it,” Vanessa shared on Instagram. “James Street was always the dream — and now it’s real.”

Expect a shopping experience that’s highly curated, beautifully designed, and always one step ahead. From fashion-week favourites to future heirlooms, TNT is where personal style gets its upgrade. Whether you’re hunting for your next event look, refining your capsule wardrobe, or just feel like spending a Saturday browsing rails of wearable art — The New Trend is about to become your new go-to.
