Festival season is upon us yet again and Splendour In The Grass is kicking it off this weekend being Australia’s Biggest Music Festival. This year is going to be one of the biggest yet with an extensive list of incredible headliners Chance The Rapper, Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, SZA. No wonder Aussie celebs and people from all over the country are attending and camping out for the cold three-day weekend.

The Byron Bay three-day festival has leaned away from the music over the years, now with a lot of focus towards people are wearing. It’s the perfect time where girls can show off their unique style and we can spot trends for the upcoming festival season.

Here is a glimpse of the style trends were placing our bets on that we will be seeing at SITG this year. For those lucky enough to attend SITG this year, it’s time to get your outfits in order and we’ve got your festival outfit inspo sorted. If you’re like the rest of us, keep an eye out for style inspo for future festivities. Get ready for your Instagram feed to be bombarded with #OOTD!

Bold Athleisure

The weekend will be filled with performance and streetwear full of retro colours, bold prints, and designer logos, while mixing and matching silhouettes. Not only is this a fun look to stand out from the crowd, the tracksuit trend is so comfortable yet oh-so-cool, and will keep you warm in the winter nights.

Statement Sunglasses

Sunglasses are a staple for sunny Byron Bay but don’t go debuting your Gucci shades in the moshpit. Over the past year, we have seen a range of extra- skinny sunglasses that some would say are impractical, but they make a statement! Make your shady accessories stand out by sticking to bold and crazy colours.

The Little White Dress

Move over LBD, white is in this year! Think sugar, spice, and everything nice, a little white dress is perfect if you’re looking for something light and easy. Pair with a woven basket or bamboo bag and some vintage boots for added fun (and comfort - you wanna be dancing at ease right).

Leopard Baby

Who would have thought the late 80’s statement look would have made a comeback in the coolest way possible. Any girl can look like a badass when wearing leopard print. Remember less is more, don’t overdo the bold print.

Verge Girl Leopard Crop, Stussy Kitty Jacket, Explosive Punk Crop Top, LPA Pant 88, Minkpink Retro Sunglasses, D.O.F Dixie Sneaker

Prints, prints, and more prints! Plaid is here to stay and we’re all for the Clueless look. We can bet you’ll be seeing girls sporting the checkered motif. The colourful and eye-catching design is just what you need to stand out.

Reformation Birch Jumpsuit, Sabo Skirt Lucy Plaid Dress, I.AM.GIA Polaris Pant, RVCA Plaid Skirt, Reformation Saldana Two Piece

The fashion joke has now officially become the festival carryall for all. The trend gets major backlash, but for SITG this beauty will be your best friend. So convenient, easy to access and so comfortable to wear. Rock it around your waist or across your body!

Revolve Lucille Fanny Pack, UO Belt Bag, Asos Holographic Fanny Pack, Stussy Waist Bag, Tommy Jeans Fanny Pack, Sabo Skirt Satchel

Chunky Sneakers

A chunky sneaker is 2018’s statement shoe. The big and bold ubiquitous chunky sneaker worked its way into the fashion scene last year thanks to celebs like Rihanna and Kim K, and it seems as its here to stay for another season. The sneaker is perfect for the festive weekend as you’re going to be on your feet a lot so you want something comfortable to walk around in.

Fila Disruptor Shoe, Nike AF1 Jester XX, Nike Air Max 1-100, Jeffrey Campbell Wifi Trainer, Vans Old Skool Platform, Nike Air Max 97, Adidas Tubular Elastic
