With over a century of expertise… Shays Shoes’ passion for shoes never ceases.

Shays Shoes have graced the streets of West End for over a century, opening its doors for business in 1901. This year the family owned business celebrates 114 years of operations, spanning four generations.

Originally established in 1901 by boot maker Bernard Shay, the store knows how to give you the perfect fit so you walk away with happy feet.

The shoe store to this date continues to stock a large selection of fashionable and comfortable boots, including their beautiful range of winter boots by Dr Martens, Miz Mooz, Rieker, Dorndorf, Minki and Naot.

The original Shay brothers' industrious work ethic and pride in their craft made them a household name, with some customers having fond memories of their parents bringing them in to buy their school shoes.

Wayne Shay, currently the third generation of Shays to own and run the store, says their love of shoes and providing Brisbane locals with happy feet is what sets Shay Shoes apart from other shoe stores. He says this combination and seeing their happy customers come back, makes them want to keep opening their doors for generations to come.

“The range of shoe brands we carry and the friendly service we offer also contribute to our ongoing success,” Wayne says.

Stocked Brands:

DR MARTENS- The iconic brand of 50+ years is one of Shays Shoes’ best brands.

NAOT – A brand that is Orthotic friendly and commonly recommended by Podiatrists.

ALEGRIA Shoes makes for happy feet.

KEEN – A comfort shoe for walking/working.

There are also many more fun shoes with comfort available in store and online!

Wayne has always had a foot in the Shays Shoes business. His passion for shoes never ceases and is now working alongside his wife Moira and one of three sons, Nathan.

Luckily Wayne and Moira have two other sons, Lucas and Isaac, to make room for Shays Shoes to continue for years to come.
