How To Nail After Party Style, According To Pip Edwards
Denim. Sparkle. Sheer.
By Kiri Johnston | 22nd May 2025Australian Fashion Week may be well and truly over, but the after party mood is far from fading. With winter event season heating up — from launches and late-night dinners to moody dancefloors and impromptu house parties — the dress code is all about energy: nostalgic, playful, and high-impact.

At the KSUBI x Don Julio 1942 Tequila After Party, Pip Edwards laid out the unofficial style playbook for going out. Consider this your cheat sheet for what to wear when the sun goes down and the flash goes off.
Diamantes and rhinestones are back“After parties are all about the celebration and nothing brings that vibe like a bit of glitz and glitter. Whether you’re hitting the dancefloor or working the room, adding some sparkle to your outfit will make sure you’re making that fun, party statement.
For a more subtle look, accessorising with an oversized earring or statement belt will keep your outfit high impact. Bedazzling and heavy hardware is back in fashion, and a clutch – OR a jewelled Don Julio 1942 Mini – is both functional, fun, and fierce!!!!”
This season, the vibe is clear: dial up the shine.Double denim is a yes“Britney did it best back in the 2000s, but double denim is making a big comeback in street style. We’re taking it to the next level with our new season collection at KSUBI, exploring new washes and prints to build on our signature denim range.
Expect to see classic authentic blue denim alongside crisp whites, dirty tones, bespoke monograms, and flip-down details. Add extra dimension by experimenting with shape: slim or relaxed-fit jackets, micro mini-skirts or slouchy wide-leg baggy jeans, or my new favourite, the barrel silhouette for a casual cool look.”
Layer it, clash it, or double up, there are no rules here.
Bomber over blazer“We’ve seen business casual come and go from our clubbing wardrobes over the last few months, but it’s time to swap those blazers for a more relaxed look.
A statement bomber jacket is one of my favourite ways to add an effortless edge to a simple outfit, perfect for an after party. Play with different fabrics and silhouettes to completely change your look.
A cropped leather bomber is a classic, paired with jeans or a mini to elevate a casual outfit. The oversized letterman jacket is having a moment, bringing a sporty collegiate vibe borrowed from the boys, while a silk-look bomber offers a sleek, laid-back luxe look.
Add a sharp Western twist to a street-style fit, as seen on Actor Sam Corlett who styled our black nylon Intruder Bomber Jacket with white shirting and a bolo tie.”
Cool, cosy, and it works with everything in your wardrobe right now.

Sheer, layered, and a little bit cheeky“A touch of sheer is one of my favourite ways to take a look from day to night, to the after party. Pair a mesh midi skirt with an oversized or cropped jacket, depending on how cheeky you’re feeling.
A see-through top paired with our signature denim adds a touch of sexiness to your party fit. We’ve dropped our classic oversized button-up Astra shirts in a sheer white and black this season, adding dimension without revealing too much.
One of my favourite styling pieces is Ksubi’s ribbed sheer Crawford dress which can be worn so many ways, doubled-up in different colours as seen on Maxine Wylde, tucked into jeans for a layered asymmetric look or worn as a top under a mini skirt or shorts.” Sheer doesn’t have to scream, just let it whisper.
The wrapAfter party style is about confidence. Whether you’re going out or just dressing like you are, Pip’s take is simple: lean into what feels fun, remix the classics, and never underestimate the power of denim, sparkle, and a good jacket.
