Pinspiration from Team Style

Pinspiration from Team Style

The Style team has put together a snapshot of our favourite fashion finds, pinned from across the web.

If you are yet to join the pack of 'pinners' curating the web's visual offering of everything (and we mean everything) from street style snaps of Vivier shoes to interior decor and the slickest graphic design works, it could be time for some pinspiration.

Launched in 2010, Pinterest has blossomed into a great medium for gathering, organising, saving and referencing images of things you love. The Style team has snapshotted our fashion pin board of what we're lusting for!

Whether it is Cate Blanchett rocking the best-dressed lists at the Oscars or a local fashionista wearing something sparkly for dinner on Eagle Street, we're loving accents of embellishments, soft and subtle or gold and bold! Channel this adorned look with a lacy, beaded shift dress or add dimension to an ensemble with a glitzy accessory -the options are endless!

While it may not feel like winter in Brisbane (ever), we're starting to feel the temptation to reach for our cosy A\W staples in hope of cooler weather! Easily neutral and chic but not quite black, grey is the perfect transitional colour to take us through to the next season. (And who doesn't love an elephant or two!)

There's no denying the ease of neutral basics, one of their perks being their wearability with gorgeously printed or textured hero pieces. The array of prints on offer at the moment is sure to get us shopping -we couldn't resist pinning a few favourites. Look for prints that can be paired with a variety of other colours to maximise closet mileage!

If you've been following recent Fashion Weeks from Paris to New York, you'll know that tea-length skirts are topping the trend reports thanks to iconic supporters like Olivia Palermo and Miroslava Duma. Don one during the day with ballet flats and a casual blouse or go for glamour in the evening by adding an underskirt for extra volume and pointed-toe stilettos.

It seems plum is the new red when it comes to lippy - so much so that queen of deep-purple pouting, Lorde is collaborating with MAC to create her own makeup collection! We know it's a bold colour to pull off but as always, it just takes a bit of confidence and the right shade. See a trusted makeup artist or brand for recommendations. If you're feeling the love, we hope our pinned pics inspire you to give it a go.
