Get ready to slumber party in the Queen Street Mall on Friday to celebrate the opening of Brisbane’s first Peter Alexander flagship store.

The store will be the third in the country, stocking the entire Peter Alexander range. The man himself will be in store from 12-2pm, revealing “plenty of hot boys and cute dogs” will be in store to join in the festivities.

"It should be a great afternoon, we're very excited," Peter says.

"There are plenty of booths for selfies with me - 0r the hot boys and cute dogs," Peter says. And, you’d be barking mad not to, especially since Peter has declared there will also be some great deals while he’s celebrating in store.

If you buy one item you'll get 15% off, two items, 20% off and if you buy three items or more while Peter is in store, you'll have a 25% discount when you head to the counter!

In conjunction with the Brisbane flagship store opening, Peter will also be exclusively unveiling his new book, Little Miss Hug and Penny the Dog.

Written in collaboration with well-known children’s author Roger Hargreaves of the classic Mr Men book titles, the book metaphorically promotes acceptance of people’s differences at grass roots level.

"Penny the Dog has short little legs which makes her different from the others," Peter says. "I came up with the story for the book which essentially came about from my own experience, being a bit different from the other boys at school".

The sleepwear expert is well-known for his in-store appearances, and sees them as an opportunity to meet his customers - and get some feedback.

“People always come up to me and say things like, 'oh, my daughter spends a lot of time in hospital so we got her these pyjamas and she loves them'. You forget the special memory people often associate with their favourite pyjamas. Customers also tell you what you're doing wrong, which is great for me," he laughs.

In line with Peter’s charitable spirit, 100 per cent of the proceeds from the $10 book will be donated to the RSPCA. He hopes the book will raise $50,000 to help continue the valuable work of the RSPCA.

"This is my way of saying thanks. It's a pleasurable thing in business to be able to give back - and everyone knows I'm a mad dog person!"
