Sydney sartorial show ponies love their labels and denim; Melbourne hipsters work head-to-toe black and Perth ups the ante in her quirky and colourful sundress (vintage of course). As for the quintessential Brisbane fashionista, she wears Isabella Longginou.
A firm favourite amongst the Sunshine State fashion set, Isabella’s designs are the perfect embodiment of Queensland’s signature style. Relaxed, glamorous and always on-trend, her clever creations blur the line between comfortable and fashionable. Featuring silks, denim and broderie lace, her uncomplicated designs are made interesting with signature details designed to showcase a woman’s body.
“Floaty sleeves and pin-tucks are becoming a bit of a signature of mine. I played with them in past collections and have also featured them heavily within my spring/ summer 2015 pieces.”
Throughout her five years as a designer, Isabella has stuck to her brand’s aesthetic and produced cohesive collections where only subtle style changes are made to classic cuts. Integrating simple designs with on-trend fabrics, Isabella targets a wide-spanning market where 20-somethings through to fifty-plus customers are all lining up for bespoke pieces.
“A lot of my current requests are from clients who have seen my designs on Instagram or on me, and they ask for similar styles in different colours or patterns. I’m having fun playing with fabrics and textures while still staying true to my brand and philosophy.”
