'Arousing curiosity in fashion' is the tag line of this show-stopping brand with its unique graphic prints, embellished garments and natural fabrics.
The two designers, Dominique and Ruth, met at fashion school three years ago before Ruth moved to New York to pursue work at a fashion house and Dominique finished her three year course. About a year later the girls caught up for a drink and, upon discovering their mutual goal of creating a unique but wearable label, WARHOF was born.
For their very first collection of luxury street wear, The Withington Collection, Dominique and Ruth drew inspiration from 90s street wear and silhouettes from the 50s. "Our agenda is to dress women and girls alike who appreciate sustainable fashion, whilst looking good. The majority of our fabrics are made by hand, and have been chosen very carefully to suit our target market,” Dominique said.
WARHOF caters to a wide demographic of women aged 25-50. The loud but wearable pieces in The Withington Collection are a print-lovers dream. "Our clientele is fashion forward and aren't afraid to experiment with prints and embellishment," Dominique said. The girls spent months perfecting their designs by testing a variety of styles and prints at the Young Designer Markets to ensure their first collection hit the nail on the head.
The funky yet classy collection will be stocked at Artisan Gallery in Fortitude Valley, where there is currently a window display showing off some of the best styles in the collection. Orders are also able to me made via email for some pieces.
Already talking about their Winter collection, Dominique and Ruth are by no means relaxing now that they have officially launched. "Fashion never sleeps, or maybe we never sleep - we don't know anymore."
