Modern, Sculptural, Refined: MISHA’s Flagship Store Has Arrived
A chrome dream
By Kiri Johnston | 10th June 2025Australian label MISHA has officially opened the doors to its first-ever flagship boutique, and if you’re anything like me (chrome-obsessed with a weakness for sculptural tailoring), you might just want to move in.Located inside the luxury shopping precinct of Emporium Melbourne, the boutique marks MISHA’s first bricks-and-mortar space, but it already feels like a long-time icon. As someone who’s watched the brand evolve from an occasionwear go-to to a serious fashion house in the making, stepping into this space felt like entering a perfectly styled moodboard: sculptural, minimal, and quietly powerful, just like the women who wear it.
Since launching in 2013, founder Michelle Aznavorian has built MISHA into a wardrobe staple for those who like their silhouettes sharp, their fabrics draped, and their outfits to speak volumes, without raising their voice. This boutique captures all of that, and more.
Designed by Milanese architecture firm WANT Studio, the space doesn’t just display clothes, it feels like MISHA. Less retail, more revelation; the brand’s aesthetic, now built in stone (and steel).
The flagship boutique is a masterclass in considered architecture: soft curves, muted tones, layered lighting, and design cues that echo MISHA’s signature silhouettes. The sculptural furnishings, from a gallery-worthy rug to arched islands in place of a traditional counter — speak the same visual language as the clothes: refined, modern, and deeply intentional.
If the space feels familiar, it’s because MISHA has become a mainstay on our radar. Our June cover girls, Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott, wore pieces from the brand’s latest collection on the cover shoot — bold yet effortless, with that signature MISHA energy that’s made it one of Australia’s most influential fashion exports.
“This flagship is more than a milestone — it’s a manifestation,” Michelle says. “Everything from the light to the stone has been considered to reflect who we are — and where we’re headed.”
So naturally, the question we’re asking is: will Brisbane be next? The Melbourne boutique signals the start of MISHA’s global retail expansion, and with a loyal following up north, it feels only right that a sculptural space lands in Brisbane soon. We’re manifesting polished concrete, gallery lighting, and maybe even a chrome moment or two.
Until then, you can still shop MISHA online and through select boutiques, but for those headed to Melbourne, this store is worth carving time for. Whether you’re after statement tailoring or something slinky, sexy or sheer for your next event, stepping into MISHA’s new flagship is like stepping into the brand’s future, one polished detail at a time.
Whether you’re planning a Melbourne trip or manifesting a Brisbane launch, one thing is clear: isn’t just making dresses, they’re shaping a fashion house that’s built to last.
