Meshing With Reason: Ahead Of The Curve With The Most Wanted Shoe Of Summer

Forward planning

Whether you’re still trying to figure out your winter capsule wardrobe or have been adding warm weather pieces to your online cart ahead of a long and jealousy-inducing European escapade, there’s no escaping the fact that mesh flats are having a serious fashion moment.

From the chunky sandal era to our devoted and vested love affair in simple summer sandals, it seems global fashion conglomerates have all come together to champion this new style (full disclosure: I’ve had my eyes on these white Dear Frances ones for months alongside the impossible-to-buy-sold-out-eternally-keeping-me-up-at-night Alaïa Fishnet Ballerinas) and it’s time to embrace it.

Effortless, fun, and breezy, these shoes are exactly the kind of barely-there footwear we’ve been demanding (without knowing it), offering an elevated approach to summer dressing. And – given their extreme popularity amongst the most sartorialist – are earning gold star street cred from Sydney to Stockholm.

Perhaps the most compelling argument for mesh flats is that they are incredibly easy to wear – just hear me out. From simple cotton dresses to straight leg jeans, bermuda shorts, and even your dressier pants, mesh flats add interest to any look in an elevated and casual way far beyond what our other flat footwear options can offer.

So, although we are still deep in the throes of winter and getting your tootsies out seems like an all too distant dream, I strongly urge you to plan your spring wardrobe now, starting here.
