The race may have stopped the nation on Tuesday 8th November, but its the fashion on and off the field that still has us stopped in our tracks. It’s safe to say that Melbourne Cup Day is Australia’s version of New York Fashion Week. Whether you’re celebrate the inaugural event trackside or not, people across the country frock up for the day and may even place a cheeky bet on a horse.

Since the Spring Racing Carnival kicked off last month, we’ve seen a number of socialites make their way to the racecourse to show off their style and yesterday many raised the fashion stakes to a whole new level.

We have scoured through our Instagram feeds to bring you a snapshot of the best Melbourne Cup Day looks.
