In a Fashion Festival first, MBFF are delighted to reveal that this year’s stunning hero image was created exclusively for the Festival by internationally acclaimed fashion illustrator Megan Hess.
Hess is renowned worldwide for her illustrations, featured on book covers such as Candace Bushnell’s iconic Sex and The City, in leading high-fashion magazines including Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and for major fashion labels, like Chanel, Dior, Valentino, Lanvin and Balenciaga.
The chic illustration encapsulates the hottest spring/summer colour trends, with vibrant shades of pink capturing the brightness and optimism of the new season and the thrill of a fashion runway.
Festival director Lindsay Bennett says the amazing illustration by the talented Megan Hess is the epitome of chic and takes the festival to new stylish heights.
International illustrator Megan Hess says it was a huge honour to be asked to illustrate the key visual for the MBFF Brisbane, as she grew up as a Brisbane girl.
“There is such an enormous amount of talent in Brisbane today and it always amazes me how many creatives, who were originally from Brisbane, are now working at an international level.
“My inspiration for the illustration was all about the beauty and optimism that comes with Spring. Soft pink and blush tones mixed with delicate blooms,” Megan says.
The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane will grace the runway from Sunday August 24 to Friday August 29, 2014 at City Hall showcasing an exciting line-up of local and national designers and the hottest new Spring/Summer collections.
