HÆLO by Dion Lee Has Arrived

A quiet return

By Kiri Johnston | 24th November 2025

Australian designer Dion Lee is stepping into a new chapter, one that feels familiar in silhouette, yet distinctly unexpected in direction. After a turbulent period that saw his namesake label placed into voluntary administration in 2024, Lee has re-emerged with something entirely new: HÆLO, a brand that signals a shift in mood and intention without attempting to replicate what came before.

Rather than rebuilding the old framework, Lee appears to be carving out something different — something more fluid, more sensual, and perhaps more creatively autonomous. HÆLO is the result of that pivot.

Where the Dion Lee label became synonymous with architectural tailoring, razor-sharp structure, and technical precision, HÆLO introduces a softer tension. The debut collection leans into contrasts: angelic and gothic, delicate and sculptural. Lace slips into the role of armour, ccorsetry returns with a softer edge, and leather curves into sculptural forms. It feels less like reinvention and more like expansion — as though Lee is exploring what fashion can be when he allows room for a different kind of expression.

The new creative beginning

For Lee, HÆLO arrives after 15 years of designing under his own name, a period defined by global acclaim, international expansion, and intense scrutiny. He describes this new project as “refreshing and inspiring,” a chance to rethink both the creative and commercial frameworks of a brand.

Instead of runway calendars and wholesale pressures, HÆLO operates on a direct-to-consumer model. It’s quietly rebellious in its structure: a brand that prioritises storytelling, craftsmanship, and creative control over industry expectations. European textiles and manufacturing anchor the collection in luxury, but the intention is to keep the work aspirational and accessible.

There’s a sense that Lee has finally created space to design without noise, and HÆLO is what fills it.

The signature aesthetic, softened

Long-time followers will recognise the DNA instantly: the sculptural lines, the precision, the interplay between fragility and strength. But the energy of HÆLO is notably different. There’s a romanticism woven through the pieces, a softness that tempers the sharpness. Lace and sheers bring an angelic lightness; corsetry and tailoring ground the collection in edge. Leather shapes move with a quiet confidence, and cut-outs carve dramatic silhouettes without feeling forced.

It’s Dion Lee as we know him, but the version that exists when the pressure lifts.

The new direction

HÆLO isn’t just a new brand; it represents a creative second wind. After years of operating inside a global luxury framework, this launch signals autonomy, experimentation, and a shift towards fashion that feels more personal.

It’s also a reminder that reinvention doesn’t have to be loud. Sometimes it’s a recalibration — a new starting point with familiar fingerprints.

The launch

HÆLO launches today on HAELO.WORLD, alongside exclusive retail partners REVOLVE and FWRD, marking the beginning of Lee’s next chapter on a global stage.

More projects are already underway, hinting that HÆLO is not a side project, but the opening act of something bigger, and potentially brighter, than what came before.
