Fashion Drops On Our Editor’s Radar This Month

This month in fashion

By Kiri Johnston | 18th August 2025

From global houses to rising Australians and cult independents, fashion this month feels like a study in contrasts. Sculptural glamour collides with instinctive swim, raw tailoring meets featherlight leather, and denim is reframed through minimalism. It’s a season defined not by singularity, but by duality — the push and pull of polish and ease. Here’s what landed on my desk — and on my radar — this August.

Stepping Out: Jimmy Choo Lands at Pacific FairJimmy Choo has just touched down on the Gold Coast with a pop-up inside David Jones at Pacific Fair. I stopped in to see the line-up: sharp heels, glossy leather, oversized sequins — all the signatures that remind me why this British house has redefined luxury since the ’90s.

Sunflower State: Song for the Mute 25.2Song for the Mute’s second FW25 drop, 25.2 Sunflower, is pure Sydney poetry — layered textures, tonal experiments, and that raw, off-beat aesthetic I can never get enough of.

BOYY: The Hungry Chili BagLisa Manobal was spotted in London with BOYY’s Hungry Chili Bag, and honestly, it’s the kind of sculptural, directional accessory that makes me want to throw my whole life into a carryall. BOYY nails that sweet spot between function and statement.

Class of 2025: KOURHKOURH’s latest drop C7D2 landed this month and I’m obsessed with the details: hand-painted denim, twisted tanks, tailored jackets. Plus, one-off accessories made from vintage charms and keychains — collector’s pieces in the truest sense.

Cool-Girl Diamonds: Dua Lipa in C HeinrichDua Lipa celebrated her 30th birthday in Ibiza dripping in gold and diamonds — including a 3.8ct Triple Bezel Diamond Necklace from Aussie label C Heinrich Diamonds. Designed by Charlotte Freeman and handcrafted in New York, it’s already a favourite of Emily Ratajkowski and Rita Ora. Very much cool-girl heirloom energy.

All Eyes On You: Heaven Mayhem Eyewear Drop IIHeaven Mayhem’s second eyewear drop launches August 21 and it’s all city-girl energy — confident, unapologetic, sculptural. Shot in Paris, the campaign nails that street-luxe vibe I live for.

Denim, Reframed: Beare Park’s Minimal TakeBeare Park has introduced denim for the first time and of course it’s refined and minimal featuring mid-rise, long-line, and Bermudas — all with that signature restraint the brand does so well.

Into the Blue: With Jéan’s Amaranto SwimWith Jéan’s Amaranto swim collection is uncomplicated but elevated — chocolate and forest bikinis, delicate hardware, and a cover-up dress that feels like summer afternoons stitched into fabric.

Lighter Than Air: Loewe’s Seasonal ShiftLOEWE’s new season feels weightless: featherlight leathers, fluid silhouettes, accessories you can slip into your everyday wardrobe. It’s craft distilled into ease — luxury without even trying.

Modern Heirlooms: AGMES NYC’s Ilona CollectionAGMES keeps building its sculptural language with the Ilona Collection. Architectural metals, wearable sculptures, pieces designed to be future heirlooms, and I’ve got my eyes on these pieces.

Parisian Light: Elka Collective SS25Elka Collective’s Spring/Summer was shot in Paris, and the clothes feel exactly like that backdrop: relaxed tailoring, sunlit palettes, refined ease. Simple, beautiful, wearable.

Stage to Spotlight: Gracie Abrams in Courtney ZhengCourtney Zheng is having a real moment. Gracie Abrams wore the Ophelia Scarf Panelled Silk Gown from Resort ’26 on tour in LA and it was the look — effortless, directional, and proof this label is going global.

August proved fashion’s best when it resists neat categories.
