Chatswood Chase Reopens With a $625M Retail Revival

Retail reborn

By Kiri Johnston | 24th October 2025

Sydney’s North Shore just scored itself a shiny new shopping playground, and no – this is not your regular mall makeover. After a $625 million redevelopment, Chatswood Chase has officially reopened, introducing a curated mix of Australian designers, global icons, and everyday luxe essentials all under one (very sophisticated) roof.

Apple, David Jones, MECCA, Sephora, Zimmermann, R.M. Williams, Ralph Lauren… consider your weekend plans sorted.

A new era of retail has entered the chat

Doors opened on Thursday 23 October to excited crowds, with Vicinity Centres CEO Peter Huddle officially unveiling the space alongside City of Willoughby Mayor Tanya Taylor and fashion insider Kate Waterhouse.

The moment tied into the centre’s new ‘Welcome Home’ campaign, shot by renowned photographer Georges Antoni. Inspired by the surrounding Ku-ring-gai National Park, the campaign grounds the retail revival in nature, architecture, and that distinctly polished North Shore energy.

Over 60 retailers have opened in phase one, featuring a lineup that blends global prestige with homegrown favourites:

  • Anchors: Apple, David Jones, MECCA, Sephora, Country Road, R.M. Williams

  • Australian designers: Zimmermann, Rebecca Vallance, Aje, Carla Zampatti

  • International icons: Ralph Lauren, Coach, BOSS – with luxury LVMH brands arriving in 2026

Why everyone’s talking about it

Chatswood Chase isn’t just reopening – it’s setting a new standard for Australian retail. Positioned in one of the country’s wealthiest catchments, the centre serves a demographic with household incomes 73% above the national average. In other words, brands are taking notice.

With 35% of local households earning over $208,000 annually and a projected population growth of 7.2% by 2027, the centre has fast become a high-stakes destination for luxury retail.

Each level has been designed as a ‘destination of distinction,’ curating fashion, beauty, lifestyle and design in a way that feels both refined and accessible. The most anticipated milestone? The launch of Level 1 in early 2026, bringing in LVMH heavyweights and global fashion houses.

The vibe? Elevated, but approachable

Despite its luxury credentials, the centre doesn’t feel uninviting or out of reach. Instead, the space is warm, architecturally beautiful, and grounded in everyday life – the kind of place where picking up a new lipstick from MECCA and browsing Zimmermann can happen in the same lap around the centre.

The ‘Welcome Home’ campaign cements this tone – featuring models Riahn Griffiths and Kevin Sun, styled by Rachel Wayman, lensed by Georges Antoni, with hair by Darren Borthwick and makeup by Chelsea Johnson. Soft natural light, muted tones, effortless luxury – think retail escapism with a flat white in hand.

Chatswood Chase has officially re-entered the fashion chat, and this time, it’s playing in the big leagues. We’ll be watching closely as more retailers roll out and Level 1 prepares for its luxury debut.
