If you don’t know exactly who Cara Delevingne is, you’d at least recognise her face. The woman is everywhere; appearing in spreads of the world’s prominent fashion magazines, music videos, posts on Tumblr, and even in films these days. Clearly the 22 year old British supermodel is dominating the worlds of fashion and pop culture with her cool blonde locks, elfin nose and those to-die-for bold, dark brows that have helped spurn on a revolution to put away the tweezers and invest in growth serum.
For the aforementioned reasons, Delevingne stars in a lead role for TOPSHOP’s Autumn/Winter campaign for 2014, placing her alongside the ranks of fellow British supermodel-superstars Kate Moss and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.
“Cara is a true TOPSHOP girl”, comments TOPSHOP’s Creative Director Kate Phelan. “Her uninhibited natural energy is intoxicating, she is free spirited and fun”.
Cara made her debut for the brand when she was filmed alongside fellow countrywoman Kate Moss for a video in 2010 but this is the first time that a model has been featured solo in a TOPSHOP campaign. No doubt, with her star quality and cult following of admirers, this is a damn good decision on the part of TOPSHOP.
“It is fitting to have a fabulous, young British star such as Cara at the epicentre of our campaign”, beams TOPSHOP owner Sir Philip Green. “I am hopeful and confident that this will be the beginning of another strong relationship for TOPSHOP”.
Shot in London by acclaimed photographer Alasdair McLellan and styled by TOPSHOP’s Creative Director Kate Phelan, Cara models a diverse melange of pieces from the latest collection from wardrobe staples such as a tough-as-nuts biker jacket to evening wear re-worked with modern details.
“Her style is confident and playful and she can be sophisticated and chic as easily as she can be cool and casual”, adds Kate. “Putting her spin on everything she makes the TOPSHOP collection her own”.
The TOPSHOP A/W collection will be available online and in stores around the world from August 2014.
