Though she’s only just starting to make a name for herself, we definitely think there’s something about Rachele Edson. A natural flair for fashion and a modelesque look – we think she’s destined for Brisbane blogger greatness.
Rachele started up Zest Fashion Blog (ZFB) only a year ago and devotes as much of her time as possible creating a “destination of inspiration” through personal fashion posts, plus online shopping edits, tips and tricks.
She’s worked with brands like Trenery, Natalie Rolt, St Frock, Nicole Bennett, Luna & Zarr, Mine & Yours, Mallow & Thyme, Samira's Closet and Curated. She has tried her hand at modeling and has begun learning from some of styling’s best, such as Kimberly Gardner.
When she’s not dabbling in fashion, you’ll find her studying hard for her Bachelor of Law and International Relations – with beauty comes brains!
Here we get to know a little more about Rachele...
Style: Name 7 things you can’t live without….
Rachele: My boyfriend; Instagram; Chocolate; Netflix; Pawpaw Ointment; My shoe collection; Vogue Magazine.
What was the catalyst for starting up ZFB?
Instagram really opened up my eyes to the world of fashion and all I've wanted ever since was to be a part of that community. Fashion really is a love and obsession of mine. It's something that gives me great enthusiasm and energy - that's how the word zest came about and thus began ZFB. In the beginning it was a place to share fashion inspiration but then I met fellow blogger (and now good friend) Aicha Robertson, who really inspired me to go further and turn ZFB into a personal style blog. I've never looked back!
What’s been your favourite collaboration so far?
I absolutely loved working with Nick Azar and Aicha on their look book and product images for The Great Beyond. Even though it wasn't really for my own blog I had so much fun - it's so satisfying working with other creatives on a joint project and creating beautiful imagery. Another job I loved was helping style a runway show in Brisbane for the top 9 contestants of Chinese reality TV show, I, Supermodel - that was a crazy experience!
What drew you to the fashion industry and what do you love most about it?
The beauty of my generation is the accessibility of information. As a child, not only was I reading fashion magazines but also I would watch runway shows from various fashion weeks across the world online (I still do). This really opened my eyes to the world of possibility, creativity and magic that is fashion. While I'm not completely immersed in the industry yet, I hope to make it my career one day. What I love most about fashion is that the possibilities are endless. Fashion is continuously in motion and I have always been one that could never sit still.
Any designers you religiously follow?
Isabel Marant, Olivier Rousteing at Balmain, Riccardo Tisci at Givenchy and Raf Simons at Dior.
If you had to live with one celebrity’s wardrobe, who would you chose?
Kendall Jenner. She has a great mix of off-duty model street wear and glamourous party looks.
Pick your ultimate front row gang to hit New York Fashion week with?
Christine Centenera, Rachel Zoe, Cara Delevingne, Leandra Medine and my fashion blogger gal-pal Aicha of course!
What’s your secret beauty weapon?
Pawpaw ointment, it saves my lips and is great for so many other things - dry skin, burns, you name it.
Name something in your wardrobe you could never throw out…
My patent black Christian Louboutin Pigalle heels... they are my first and only pair of Louboutins (so far) given to me by my boyfriend - I cried when I opened the box!
Describe a typical day-in-the-life of Rachele Edson...
A typical day in my life is unfortunately not so glamourous. I'm still at University studying Law and International Relations and also work as the manager of a cinema complex. On my (rare) days off I find time to shoot as much content for my blog as time permits! In the evenings I'm either studying, editing photos, online shopping or watching Netflix.
Hot or Not:
The Marble trend?
Hot. My iPhone case is white marble with my initials on it!
Sneakers with dresses?
Hot. It looks super cool but I sadly I don't think I can pull it off like other bloggers do.
Not (sorry fans). I think she's insanely talented but she's gone a little far of the rails for me to admire her lately.
Always, always, hot. I mean, did you see the LV Cruise collection that was just shown in Palm Springs? Nicolas Ghesquiére is a genius...
