AW16 Leather Jacket Edit

BRRR, it's cold in here!

Feature Image: The Style girls rocked up to work last week, all in leather!

It’s that time of year when you need five alarms to coax you out of bed and into the freezing cold morning air. When you finally decide to get up, you need to be cosy. Super cosy. And if you want to be equally warm and fabulous, the one piece you need in your wardrobe is a leather jacket. Since there are so many amazing leather jackets on the market, I’ve decided to choose the best of the best to put an extra spring in your step!

Erichsen Jacket in Nougart $890, Aje

This leather jacket is proof of Aje’s awesomeness. Step away from the classic black and brown jacket; this nougart-coloured jacket has a zip-up front, an amazing ribbed texture on the shoulders and sleeves, a wide collar and pockets at the front.

STYLE TIP: Use this jacket to toughen up a white dress.

Clover PU Biker Jacket $99.95, Atmos&Here

If you like the cropped look, this jacket is for you! Since it’s made out of PU leather (man-made but has the look and feel of genuine leather), you don’t have to worry about paying hundreds of dollars for a fab new leather jacket. It’s a relaxed fit and has chic chrome hardware for that real leather look.

STYLE TIP: Wear cropped jackets with high-waisted jeans for the perfect balance.

Satisfaction Moto Leather Jacket in Burgundy $899, Rebecca Vallance

Pick up your style game with a burgundy leather jacket. This one from Rebecca Vallance is a dream and goes with just about anything. Featuring a cropped body and made from bubble leather, it softens with every wear. It has a quilted belt sitting along the bottom of the jacket, which does wonders for adding more shape to your outfit.

STYLE TIP: This looks amazing pared back with flares!

R&R Leather Jacket $995, Sambag

Khaki is hot on the trend cycle and isn’t going anywhere soon! Add a bit of edge to your outfit with this Sambag piece. The best thing about this jacket is it’s a double agent! Too hot? Take off the sleeves and wear it as a vest. Too cold? Put on the jacket! It’s that investment piece you’ve been waiting for.

STYLE TIP: Wear with leather leggings for a grunge look.

Kora Leather Biker Jacket $169.99,
Bardot

This is the classic leather jacket that goes with just about anything and gives you that off-duty model look. It’s waaay cheaper than a heap of other jackets, too! It has sexy buckle embellishments around the waist, a zip-up front, sides and cuffs. We can’t forget the studs around the collar - a must-have when looking for a leather jacket.

STYLE TIP: Try wearing this over a ribbed knit dress to spice it up!

Filippa Jacket in Cherry Leather $399.95, Wittner

Shoe retailer Wittner has come out with a leather jacket! While you do have the classic black option, I can’t go past this one! It’s crafted from silky soft dark cherry leather with bright silver hardware and a belted waist. Being under $500, I wouldn’t say no to hanging this in my wardrobe!

STYLE TIP: Get extra style points by pairing it with a maxi skirt.

Rebel Jacket $620, Kookai

James Dean, eat your heart out! This modern twist on the biker jacket has me salivating just looking at it! The military-style detailing across the whole jacket just shows you’re a badass - all you need is a motorbike and you’re good to go! It has front pockets, metal pressed studs on the lapel and metal zips on the cuff.

STYLE TIP: Wear with knee-high boots for a grunge-meets-sexy look!
