5 Activewear pieces to add to your everyday wardrobe

Wearing activewear in and outside of the gym is so on-trend right now. Here are the 5 pieces every gal needs to nail the sports luxe trend (without looking lazy).

Thanks to the trend of sporty yet oh-so-chic-attire working its way into the everyday wardrobes of celebs and fashionistas alike, it’s no longer a faux pas to wear sneakers into the office, tights to a party and even a sports tee on a Friday night out – provided you know how to pull the look off.

And while it may look easy, there is a fine line between looking luxe and looking downright lazy. If you’re struggling to find that line, all is not lost!

Here are 5 activewear pieces to add to your everyday wardrobe – and how to wear them (and yes, you can work out in these!)

Sports luxe - we love you!

1. The sports tee

Tees are a total staple piece for any wardrobe, so a sports themed or logo tee is a no-brainer. Opt for loose-fitting and round-necked, and partner up with a pair of killer heels and tuck into on-trend jeans or slim leather trousers, and you’ll have created the perfect tee trend. Designer Charli Cohen’s heather grey sports luxe ‘Dressed to Kale’ tee is a must-have (and the funnier the message, the better

2. Patterned leggings

Yes – tights are totally acceptable as pants, provided they're not the threadbare, basically see-through el cheapos you bought from who knows where about 5 years ago. Ditch the boring black and bring out your fun side with tights in a colourful print or uber stylish pattern. Designed specifically for sports fashionistas, Melbourne-based boutique label L’urv Sportswear is perfect for street-to-gym fashion. These Banana Baby leggings have a tightened sillhouette so they extend beyond dance, yoga and fitness - and seamlessly into your coffee, shopping and blogging wardrobe (which, let's face it, is how you'll be wearing them most).

3. Stylish sneakers

So it’s pretty obvious we here at Style love us some sneakers! Wedged, flat, brightly coloured or tonal; this is our must-have fashion piece of the season. Chuck on with jeans and a leather jacket, or create some edgy appeal with an otherwise girly look by pairing with a dress or flowy skirt. You can even work back with your leggings and an oversized-shirt for an all-over sports look.

4. The tank top

Muscle tees are not just for the boyf! Grab his style and make it your own, by wearing your muscle tank paired with feminine styling in the form of a slim fit maxi skirt, skater skirt or wide-legged pants.  This muscle-tee is super soft and from Bondi designer, Pia Muehlenbeck. The sleeveless top allows freedom of movement for exercise, while also looking stylishly casual for a day out with your bae.

5. The Puffer Jacket

Gain some instant street-style cred by investing in the ultimate sports luxe piece; the puffer jacket. Ok, ok, so you may not find you wear it quite as much as you might do on a winter’s day in downtown Brooklyn, but a puffer jacket is the easiest way to take your look from Plain Jane to JLo (and that’s the look you’re going for here!). Opt for quilted, glossy and with a hood for total luxe-appeal.

Just a quick note: This post is sponsored, but we only write about things we reckon you’ll think are awesome. We’re all about sharing the love here at Style, and it’s the love from sponsors that helps make that happen. Thanks for the wardrobe inspiration Pure Dash Athletica.
