THURSDAY APRIL 12
Robina Town Centre
Robina Town Centre will be pumping this weekend, as they host a variety of events, including street art, brews and bites!
DETOUR Street Art Festival
In celebrating local art and the community, the DETOUR Street Art Festival has provided an epic visual arts spectacle, showcasing the movers and shakers of the Gold Coast’s street art scene. Held at Robina Town Centre, see some of the Coast’s most talented street artists.
Time: From 10am to 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday April 15.
The Mini Art Lab
This one is for the kiddies! Robina Town Centre is letting the youngest of art enthusiasts put their imaginations to work in The Mini Art Lab, where they will be guided by Brisbane artist Lauren Carney, to create their own little masterpieces.
The Live Lawn
Experience some laidback vibes and chill lakeside while you listen to an impressive line up of local musicians in Robina’s open-air venue, The Promenade. There will be a pop-up bar serving bites and brews from Malt House and Coopers Brewery, plus get some meal deals in celebration of the school holidays. Perfect opportunity to grab a leisurely bite while listening to some tunes in this fun, friendly and family environment.
As the first official partner of the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, The Star Gold Coast has a packed schedule of events for this weekend, with a variety of themed events celebrating the multicultural diversity of the Games.
On Thursday night, the Celebration Lawn will be holding Party Pasifika, starting at 5pm until late. This party will welcome music by local talents, The Koi Boys from 8pm, Roving Pacific Island and Haka Performances and live music DJ sets throughout with GC2018 events live on the big screen.

The Jungle Giants – Festival 2018
The Brisbane indie-rock band, The Jungle Giants will take to the Queensland Music Stage for a free gig this Thursday! As part of Festival 2018, these Aussie gems will be supported by the youthful, indie rock band The Creases and the Gold Coast local four-piece Eliza & The Delusionals. The free set starts at 7pm.

FRIDAY APRIL 13
Baker Boy @ NightQuarter
Baker Boy – also referred to as the ‘fresh new prince’ – is the freshest new Yolngu hip-hop talent from the Top End. Watch him stand young, strong and proud as he raps in Yolngu Matha language representing his Arnhem Land bloodlines.

Soak up the last of the Comm Games excitement with Southport’s CBD Street Party, with live roving entertainment, screening of the games and children’s activities. Ends Sunday.
SATURDAY 14th APRIL
The NightQuarter Festival is wrapping up this Saturday but not without a bang! Throwing a mammoth ten-day party has seen an incredible program of music and food, showcasing everything that the Gold Coast has to offer. NightQuarter street food eats and dessert will be there to ignite your senses and keep you going this weekend!

Kate Miller-Heidke – Festival 2018
Don’t miss this opportunity to hear one of Australia’s most captivating artists perform her brand new music. This indie pop legend is renowned for her alternative genre-crossing style and is sent to leave you speechless this Saturday at the Queensland Music Stage. Starting at 7pm, this is her only Gold Coast performance, so don’t miss out!

Jimmy Barnes @ The Star Gold Coast Theatre
To round out the entertainment extravaganza in the Star Gold Coast Theatre, Aussie rock icon, Jimmy Barnes will be performing his sold-out show “Working Class Man: An Evening of Stories and Songs”. This new tour will see Jimmy tell his life story, singing stripped back versions of his most iconic songs with that famous gravelly voice that we have all grown to know and love.
In Palm Beach, learn more about where the Farmers Market’s produce has come from, how it was made and what elements went into its creation from local growers and producers. Supporting local current and upcoming musicians, sit back and relax in the shade, listen to music, sip on a coffee and enjoy a brunch from their street food vendors. The Mudgeeraba Markets are held inside the local shopping centre every Friday, with a great selection of French food, Indian curries, wood-fired pizzas, hot dogs, cakes and waffles on a stick! Plus, some different stalls this week including, gluten-free superfoods, soaps, handmade baby clothes and napery, organic skincare and cakes and breads from the Italian bakery, Saamaria’s.

SUNDAY 15th APRIL
A once in a lifetime opportunity where you can be a part of a 5km fun run, making history on the Gold Coast. This sporting event is held on the section of the Marathon course, at the exact same time that our fellow marathon running champions will race for gold. Aqua! Everything aqua! And no, we don’t mean the ‘Barbie Girl’ 80’s band, we mean a whole festival dedicated to all things water. This is a Comm Games event in which you can challenge your friends in the inflatable animal and pool noodle races, try out an aqua or yoga class, check out their gym or test your swimming skills in a swimming race. Make sure to wear your togs, lather yourself in sunscreen and have a sun, fun-filled day out! Great for the whole family!

Arbodia – Festival 2018

End your weekend in fun and style! The Star is the best place outside of the stadiums to revel in the fun and festivities of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Throughout the games, all of the action has been broadcasted live on the Celebration Lawn and this Sunday is no exception with DJ Havana Brown on at 7pm, the Closing Ceremony commencing at 7.30pm and then a Fireworks display at 10.30pm.

Chevron Renaissance Shopping Centre has had their game face on with their incredible 13-day festival, ending this Sunday. See the precinct come to life, with live music, retailer offers, kids activities, free face painting and death-defying street acts such as sword swallowing and stilt walking.
