Weekend Wrap-Up (Mar 24-27)

Check out the most eggceptional things to do in Brisbane this weekend.

By Emily Halverson | 24th March 2016

The coming of Easter means a four-day weekend (score!) and we get to use our eggcellent hot-cross-puns. (No, we won’t stop. It’s a crack-up.)

We’ve got an eggciting selection of events this weekend in Brisbane to keep you busy from Thursday to Sunday. So go on, hop to it.

Easter at Southbank

Fluffy green grass, sweet treats and family-friendly cafés make South Bank the pawfect place to celebrate the arrival of the Easter Bunny this weekend.

Kick off Easter with a chocolate frenzy at one South Bank’s famed dessert bars: Max Brenner, San Churro or Cowch. Don’t forget to check out the other round treats at Doughnut Time or go full sugar hit with a Nitrogenie concoction.

Take those treats down to the grassy Liana Lounge and bask in the warm weather with free live music from City Sounds. They’ll be playing at South Bank’s Liana Lounge on Easter Saturday, or enjoy the Sunday Sessions on the Green in River Quay on Easter Sunday from 2pm to 5pm.

Once the guilt has kicked in, take solace in the fact that the Medibank Feel Good Program will run throughout the break. Burn off those calories with yoga, pilates, aqua aerobics or a Zumba class (what better way to burn calories than dance them away?). If organised fitness isn’t your thing, you can always cycle or walk at your own pace all the way from QAGOMA to Kangaroo Point Cliffs (and back again).

Where: South Bank, South Brisbane (duh!)
Cost: You spend what ya want. Or nothing at all if you go along for the river views and SERENITY.
