Buddha Birth Day Festival

The Buddha Birth Day Festival is one of Queensland’s most prestigious cultural events and this year is its 20th anniversary at the South Bank Parklands!

This free three-day event is an enticing mix of vegetarian food, market stalls, performances, cultural displays, Chinese lion dances, a children's arts area, celebrity cooking, Chinese lantern displays, baby blessing ceremonies, meditation classes, Buddhist talks, dragon boats and more.

The Color Run

The Color Run returns to Brisbane for the fifth year. Get your friends together for more fun, more sun and even more colours than ever. Known as the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”, Color Run is the original paint race! There’ll be music, dancing, photo opportunities and massive colour throws.

Each Color Runner will also receive a race shirt, finisher’s medal on a floral-printed ribbon, embroidered headband and fun temporary tattoos. It doesn’t matter if you’re a dedicated runner or not – you can sprint, walk, skip, jump or cartwheel the race!

Cinco De Mayo

Once upon a time, Cinco de Mayo commemorated the Mexican battle of Puebla where the French were defeated and heritage, pride and national unity was restored.

Today, Cinco de Mayo marks a celebration of Mexican culture, cuisine, cocktails, and music. So bring along your sandals and sombreros for a banging night of salsa, spice and all things Mexican!

Riverbank Fireworks

As part of the Buddha Birth Day Festival, enjoy a spectacular fireworks display by Brisbane’s riverside. Families and all ages are welcome to watch the Brisbane sky light up. There’ll also be food, music and other events to enjoy while you’re there!
