If there’s nothing you like more than hunting down a bargain, then you’re going to want to clear your schedule this Saturday 17 November because The World’s Biggest Garage Sale is coming back to town!
If you’re not familiar with The World’s Biggest Garage Sale, the hint is in the name. The Brisbane-based startup is proud to host huge community events to activate unused/unwanted goods in the community and resell them for purposeful profit with donations being made to a range of charity partners. Not only do they raise important funds for worthy causes and let us score new clothing for a fraction of the price, but they also help support sustainable consumption practices. To date, they have diverted 3.3 million kg of potential waste from landfill while also raising $314K for local charities.
For another huge year, they are partnering with The Courier Mail Children’s Fund and Good360 to assist as many Australian charities as possible and to support those in our community who need it most.
While they have plenty of the typical fare you see at garage sales such as antiques, furnishings, books, toys, white goods, and more, this year they are stepping things up with a second warehouse entirely dedicated to fashion! The huge fashion warehouse will include hundreds of brand new garments, high-value designer items, and rare fabrics donated by the community. Good360 has even donated 7000+ brand new ‘Shoes Of Prey’ shoes! This new development is just another way that they are encouraging the community to adopt more sustainable practices. Plus, it’s an awesome chance to pick up some shopping bargains and overhaul your wardrobe before we go into summer!
If you want to clean out your wardrobe, you can donate all your unused items at one of their multiple donation drop-off points. With drop off locations all across Brisbane, you’re not that far away from a fresh, clean wardrobe!
In the meantime, grab your favourite reusable bag, a bit of cash, and get ready for a whole day of bargain hunting!
