We've found the perfect event for seafood lovers: the Little Brothers Mussel Festival! Mussel Brothers (known for their regular stall at the Mount Gravatt Marketta) have teamed up with Kinkawooka Shellfish for a festival of cooking demonstrations, live entertainment, and (brace yourselves) unlimited mussels. Does this sound like the best way to spend an evening or what?

Wandering Cooks in South Brisbane is hosting the event, where the usual food trucks will be replaced with two ordering stations. The $59 ticket includes a welcome drink and Sydney Rock oysters from Australia's Oyster Coast upon arrival, followed by mussels served in five different ways: a red Thai curry; beer and bacon in a garlic creamy broth; chowder with sourdough cob loaf; a tomato and white-wine broth; and deep-fried tempura battered mussels (a.k.a mussel popcorn!). If these don't excite the kids, they will surely be entertained with tasty fish and chips.
If you need shellfish alternatives (dragged along a friend that hates the salty stuff?), Latin Manna’s Luz Mosquera will be serving Colombian food, whilst the Gold Coast's White Gold Creamery will be conducting cheese tastings throughout the evening.
In addition to all the tasty feeds, Ryan Giles will be providing live music for the evening, whilst John Susman (renowned seafood expert) will conduct live cooking demonstrations.
The tickets are strictly limited in order to keep the event smaller and more intimate. For backyard atmosphere, delicious food, and a winner of an evening, head online to purchase tickets here.
The Little Brothers Mussel Festival will be held at Wandering Cooks at Fish Lane, South Brisbane on Saturday June 10th, 3pm - 10pm.
