It’s that time of year again! Entries are now open for the Branded Beef and Lamb Competition. Presented by Super Butcher, the competition will be held on May 2-3 at the Royal Queensland Food and Wine Show (RQFWS).
Chief Judge Elaine Miller will be leading a team of Queensland’s top judges and food specialists to taste their way through the finest branded beef and lamb in the retail market. Experts including Jake Nicolson from Blackbird Bar & Grill, and Glen Barratt from Wild Canary will be the judging over the two-day period.
RNA Beef Cattle Committee Chairman Gary Noller says, “This competition really gives medal-winning brands credibility, and because the product is branded we know the story behind it, which consumers are demanding more and more.”
This year, the competition has expanded to cater for the restaurant trade. Keep an eye out for the new class as well: Restaurant Trade Branded Lamb Class More Than 24kg.’

If you’d love to sample the medal-winners’ standout branded beef and lamb products, you can! All medal-winning exhibitors will have their products served at the iconic Royal Queensland Show (a.k.a the Ekka!) and the RQFWS Grape Grazing by Night event.
