Spring has sprung and with it comes cherry blossoms! Unfortunately for us Brisbanites, we don’t get to experience the sweet wafting smell of Japan’s delicate blossoms. However, we DO get to celebrate them at Saké. The Restaurant and Bar is hosting two exclusive dinners focusing on the regional cuisines of Japan and a picnic themed lunch event with limited edition cocktails inspired by the iconic pink blooms.

The flavours of Japan’s regional cuisine will be showcased in the two dinners that focus on the cuisines of East and West Japan, respectively. Hosted in Saké’s exquisite private dining rooms, the restaurant will be decked out in beautiful floral displays to bring Japan’s iconic flora to us, without the flight.

Each menu, paired with drinks, is $159 per person, but guests can book both dinners for a total of $300 per person.

Take a culinary journey and let your taste buds travel Japan as Saké Head Chefs present a collaborative menu of dishes from both regions celebrating fresh spring produce.

Unfortunately, the East Dinner has been and gone, but don’t worry as the West Dinner is yet to come!

The West Dinner will take place on Tuesday 17th September when you can feast on ike jime snapper sashimi, steamed grouper kabura mushi, tempura pork belly and calamari, grilled sakura smoked salmon and for amaimono, indulge in yuzu tart with seasonal ice cream, among other delicious offerings.

A weekend picnic event will be held at Sake Eagle Street Pier over the weekend of September 28 and 29 with dedicated spaces transformed into Japanese floral wonderlands. Dine tatami-style with an extensive, shared Japanese menu ($169pp), which includes a cocktail on arrival and two hours of Veuve Clicquot Rose, Cloudy Bay wine and Sapporo beer. Click here to book.
