A Cake Bonanza All For Charity: Get A Slice Of This!

Layers of love!

By Dinushka Gunasekara | 8th November 2019

The premise of a birthday cake is simple: Congratulations for existing, here’s a sweet treat to commemorate the achievement. Now let’s light that sweet treat on fire and share it with your nearest and dearest so we can all be happy you were born. OzHarvest are blowing out their candles soon and they know who they’re sharing their cake with: the people who need it most.

For OzHarvest’s eighth birthday, there’s only one present they want and that’s Cakes for a Cause. For November 27, Brisbane’s best chefs, bakers and cake makers will be creating 100 birthday cakes that will be donated to local charities who receive OzHarvest food to deliver layers of love. To help share the birthday magic, you can make a huge difference by sponsoring a cake here for $1,000, which will not only provide a special celebration for someone in need, but it will also fund the delivery of 2,000 much-needed meals before Christmas. Any donation is more than welcome, with even just $1 allowing OzHarvest to deliver two meals to those who need it.

The cakes aren’t just your plain ol’ $4.80 mud cakes either. These are divine desserts made by sensational chefs hailing from some of the best bites in Brisbane incuding E’cco Bistro, Blackbird Bar & Restaurant, Donna Chang, Spicers Balfour Hotel and Wild Canary. It’s OzHarvest’s birthday – they’ll do what they want!
