It’s that time of year again, when Brisbane transforms into a small German village as Oktoberfest takes over. It’s earned it’s spot in the top 10 Oktoberfest’s across the globe, and this year it promises to be bigger and better.

Taking place over two big weekends, October 6-8 and 13-15, expect to witness an authentic German cultural experience. German sausages, pork knuckle, strudels, European chocolates and traditional German pastries. And then there’s the beverage list. In addition to an impressive range of hand-crafted German beers, there will also be plenty of Schnapps, ciders and wines on hand for those not partial to ale.

But it’s not just a culinary feast. There will also be plenty of entertainment for you to enjoy and activities for you to get involved with in between drinking beer and munching on pretzels. Performances by Brisbane German Choir, old favourite Heidi The Yodeller, face painting, Dirndl & Lederhosen fashion parade, human foosball ride, and the Bavarian Strong Man competition.

There will also be plenty on offer to keep the kids happy, including circus workshops, an animal farm and carnival rides.

Get out your lederhosen, gather your friends, and buy your tickets before they sell out.
