Christmas Movies at Roma Street Parklands | Now – Sun, Dec 17
Wanting to watch a Christmas classic? Every day until Sunday, December 17, Roma Street Parklands is screening a variety of Christmas movies for the whole family to enjoy! Held in the parkland’s Amphitheatre, food trucks serving delicious eats and drinks will be available and with no bookings required, you can just rock up with your rug and you’re set! A family favourite, The Polar Express, will be screening this Saturday, December 16, at 7pm – pop that one on your calendar people!
Gold Lotto City Hall Lights | Now – Mon, Dec 25
Running until Christmas Eve, The Gold Lotto City Hall Lights are the shining jewel in the crown of Brisbane’s Christmas Program. An event for all ages to enjoy, the Brisbane City Hall will light up in a display of colour with an all-new light projection show. This is a must see and should be added to your Christmas calendar immediately. The show runs every fifteen minutes to ensure you won’t miss out. Before or after the show, enjoy a dinner in the city with family or friends and get into the Christmas spirit.
David Jones Christmas Parade | Fri, Dec 15 – Sun, Dec 24
Brisbane’s favourite family tradition, the Christmas Parade, returns to The City this December. Brimming with music and merriment, the parade comes complete with a nativity scene, Santa and dozens of performers to entertain and delight all ages. It’s on nightly from December 15-24 and commences at the Edward Street end of the Queen Street Mall. It then weaves its way through our vibrant city, finishing at King George Square. While you are there make sure the little ones enter the David Jones Colouring-In Competition running from December 16-17 in the Toy Department, for their chance to win a brand-new Maxi Micro Deluxe scooter valued at $229.
Enchanted Garden | Now – Sun, Dec 17
Every day from 6.30pm as the evening draws in, watch Roma Street Parklands come to life! Amidst enticing decorations, twinkling lights and mellow music, you’ll be getting into the true spirit of Christmas. While you are there, grab some dinner from the food trucks and wander through the parklands to enjoy the 16 hectares of beautiful forestry. With a variety of themed gardens and recreational areas, you and the family can enjoy a magical night out this holiday season.

South Bank’s Christmas markets are set to create a Christmas shopper’s paradise! These markets that are the nearest thing to a European Christmas market that you will find in Brisbane, which makes them that bit more special. Wander through stalls that include many gifts and goodies such as gingerbread houses, artisan festive cards and delectable Christmas puddings, along with hand-made jewellery, candles and wooden toys. Combining decorative lights and the pine fragrance of Christmas trees, Stanley Street will be overflowing with festive spirit from 3pm-10pm every day in the lead up to Christmas.

South Bank is definitely in holiday mode! Take the kids on a South Bank adventure and explore the exhibits at QAGOMA. In particular check out The Obliteration Room, where you along with the kids are invited to enter Japanese contemporary artist, Yayoi Kusama’s world. Add colourful dot stickers to a domesticated space comprising of everything white from objects, furniture and surfaces. Enjoy the fun at QAGOMA and be a part of a dynamic artwork that sees a room transform after each dot is stuck. The kids will love it and so will you!
