Grab your runners, because Brisbane’s newest half marathon is coming. The Great South Run is being hailed as Brisbane’s fastest growing fun run, and we can’t wait to join in!
Whether you’re trying to beat your PB or just coming along for a good time, the Great South Run is open to all.
There’s also a choice of four races, so you can pick from a lengthy half marathon, 10km or 5km, and even a 2.6km run for the little ones.
If you’re interested in the half marathon, you can make your way down to Algester’s Col Bennett Park on Sunday, April 9. The path winds its way towards Paradise Road and through a bushland setting alongside Oxley Creek before returning to Col Bennett Park.
Each contestant will receive a race pack prior to the event, featuring a race number with a timing tag, an event singlet, and discounts from the event sponsors.
And did we mention you get to collect a medal at the end of the race? Digital photos and online times will also be available to all participants.
After your race, enjoy complimentary entertainment from some of South East Queensland’s best runners while indulging in tasty treats from the food stalls at the race precinct.
All event proceeds will go towards people in the local community experiencing domestic violence, with partner charities including RizeUp Australia, Women’s Legal Service and Run 2 Give Foundation.
