Brisbane Welcomes the YMCA Rat Race

By Guest Styler | 22nd September 2016

Brisbane will play host to the YMCA Rat Race – an exciting new cheesy obstacle course, eight-kilometre scamper AND a wine and cheese festival event!

Let us elaborate: on Saturday, October 8, participants will gather at Captain Burke Park under the Story Bridge.

In teams of up to four, you will be given a large inflatable cheese to carry with you for the duration of the Rat Race and across the finish line.

But that’s not all. Dedicated “Pest Patrols” will be out and about, running interference for the duration of the Rat Race. Their aim? To “rescue” the cheese from you and your ratty mates.

Your aim? Get to the end of the course intact and with your cheese!

The eight-kilometre course will take you on a scenic route of Brisbane, along the Kangaroo Point cliffs, through the Botanical Gardens and back.

And at the end, you get CHEESE and WINE at the Rat Race Festival at Captain Burke Park! It's free entry so friends and family can also enjoy the festival vibes. AND – that's right, we're not done yet! – you can order a special cheesy hamper from Fromage [The Cow], our favourite cheesy venue.

Sounds awesome, right? What’s even more awesome is that you can get a discount just for loving Style! Once you complete the registration form for the Rat Race and click through to the payment page, simply enter the code style2016ratsters and you’ll get 10 per cent off!

We’ll see you there!
